-Motivation:

CLASS CHARADES
For the activity, the teacher will be calling a student at random to act out a word
or phrase that is given to them. The first student in the class to raise their hand
will be given the chance to answer what the phrase or word is. Note that
students’ answers must be in complete sentences. A point will be given to both
the actor and guesser for every correct answer.

ex. Singing
“He is singing”

1. Washing clothes
2. Riding a jeepney
3. Eating and drinking

B. Activity (10 ACTIVITY PROPER:

the given tasks. The group will choose a representative to share their outputs to
the class Each group will be given 25 points.

You will be given 5 mins. to do the task and 2 mins. to present your output

GROUP 1: A Letter for Home


As a group, you must write a letter to your parents, relatives or friends in the
province narrating your current life as a student living in the city.

Example. I am making projects with my classmates.

Group 2: A trip to the Philippines


Students will present one picture each of a specific place in Luzon, Visayas and
Mindanao. Considering their culture, tradition, way of life, and geographical
location, share things that the people there would most likely be doing during
the moment.

Example: Baguio: “People in Baguio are wearing coats and jackets”

Group 3:
Study and analyze the pie chart below pertaining to what the Hight School
Students of Pajo National High school are wearing for the day. Write down in
complete sentences three outfits that the students are wearing.

Example: 25% of the Students of Pajo National High School are wearing civilian
today.

D. Abstraction (13 WHAT ARE PROGRESSIVE TENSES?


minutes) -Also called the continuous tense, is an English verb tense used to describe
continuing actions—actions that are in progress and ongoing.
-It can be conjugated to be used in the past, present, or future

A simple general formula:


“To be” verb conjugation + present participle (-ing) of the verb

Example: It rains in Cebu.


It was raining in Cebu yesterday. Past
It is raining in Cebu now. Present
It will be raining in Cebu tomorrow. Future

PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE


The present progressive tense shows an action which is happening at the
moment of speaking and writing.
- It uses time expressions such as at this time, presently, now, right
now, at this moment, and currently.

For first person singular subject I + am+ verb-ing (studying)


For third person singular subject He/She/It + is+ verb-ing (walking)
For plural subject including second We/You/They +are+ verb-ing (dancing)
person singular subject

Examples:
a. I am writing on the board right now.
b. Maria Fe is writing on the board now.
c. Maria Fe and Imee are writing on the board now.

Take a look at the following picture. What are the things that are currently
happening in the picture? Mention as many as you can.
B. Activity (10 ACTIVITY PROPER:

The students will have to find a pair. During the end of the discussion proper,
students will discuss with their pairs what that they have learned from the
discussion. The teacher will call random pairs to share their learnings.
