HPE SYNERGY SOFTWARE RELEASE: COMPOSER 7.00.00 and IMAGE
STREAMER 6.40.00

HPE Synergy Software Releases provide software and firmware update solutions. The
software component files are accessible using the links at the bottom of this webpage.
If you need a different Synergy Software Release than the one shown, then return to

This Software Release provides updates for HPE Synergy.

HPE Synergy Software Releases contain the software/firmware for supporting Gen9,
Gen10 and Gen10 Plus servers.
Prior to performing an update, HPE recommends that customers use the HPE OneView
Update Readiness Checker to identify and resolve any issues that could prevent a

Contained in this software release:
• HPE Synergy Composer2, firmware version 7.00.00
• HPE Synergy Image Streamer, firmware version 6.40.00
• The Synergy Management combination of HPE Synergy Composer2 7.0 and

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2022.08.01 - August 2022

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2022.08.01 introduces OS support for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 8.6 and 9.0.

In addition, SSP 2022.08.01 resolves the following issues and security

vulnerabilities
• Resolves an issue where the HPE Synergy 4610C 10/25Gb Ethernet adapter
may be corrupted after updating FW to version 10.56.5. For more information

• Resolves HPE Integrated Lights-Out 4 (iLO 4), Denial of Service (DoS)

• Resolves HPE Synergy Gen10 Servers - brief CPU or network traffic loss may

• Includes an updated System BIOS to address a security vulnerabilities in

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2022.02.01– February 2022

WARNING: This SSP contains firmware version 10.56.5 and cannot be used with the HPE Synergy 4610C
10/25Gb Ethernet Adapter. For HPE Synergy compute modules previously configured with HPE Synergy
4610C 10/25Gb Ethernet adapters, the adapter may no longer work if updated to firmware version 10.56.5.

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2022.02.01 introduces OS support for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 8.5.

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2022.02.01 with the inclusion of the Gen10 compute
module ROMs (2.58_11-24-2021) and HPE Synergy 480 Gen10 Plus compute module
ROM (1.56_11-29-2021), resolves an issue where HPE Synergy Gen10/Gen10 Plus
compute modules BIOS may log corrected memory error threshold events to the
Integrated Management Log (IML) incorrectly. For more information, see Customer

In addition, SSP 2022.02.01 addresses the following security vulnerabilities

• Remote buffer overflow for HPE Gen10 and Gen10 Plus servers using Integrated
Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) versions prior to v2.60. For more information, see Security

• HPE Synergy 12Gb SAS Connection Module -- Security update

• Added support for CNSA level security
• Only runs TLS 1.2 (TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are disabled)

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2021.11.01- November 2021

WARNING: This SSP contains firmware version 10.56.5 and cannot be used with the HPE Synergy 4610C

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2021.11.01 introduces the following new OS support
while continuing the upkeep on our current supported OS’s.

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2021.05.04 is a direct replacement for HPE
Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2021.05.03 to address an offline automatic flashing
on an HPE Gen9/Gen10/Gen10 Plus Synergy compute module using SSP version
2021.05.03 or earlier.

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2021.05.03 introduced the Gen10 Plus server
platform as well as includes the the following Security Hardening Enhancements
introduced in HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2021.05.01:

• HPE Integrated Lights Out 4 (iLO4) and HPE Integrated Lights Out 5 (iLO5) See

HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.02.02 addresses security vulnerability

HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.02.02 is a direct replacement for HPE Synergy
Custom SPP 2021.02.01 to address the following industry wide security vulnerability:

• UEFI Secure Boot Evasion Vulnerability (CVE-2021-20233, CVE-2020-25632,

CVE-2020-27779, CVE-2021-20225, CVE-2020-27749, CVE-2020-25647) for

HPE Gen9 servers running Linux with secure-boot enabled must install the HPE-DB-
2016 secure-boot key on the platform in order to load HPE published drivers included in

HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.02.02 contains many significant Virtual Connect
enhancements in the areas of resiliency, support, and customer requested features.

HPE Synergy Composer2 7.0 adds the following enhancements:

Quick access to device inventory information
 • Using a redesigned server hardware overview page Users can easily view
the device inventory information on the redesigned server hardware
overview page.
Easily identify connectivity issues in HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8
Module for HPE Synergy and HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module for
HPE Synergy
• This feature helps a user understand the root cause for connectivity issues
of a server profile by performing various checks, identifying issues, and
providing resolution to those issues.
HPE OneView fabric manager now includes networks within an uplink set of
a logical interconnect group
• This feature eliminates the need for users to manually add the networks for
static binding.

HPE Synergy Composer2 (HPE OneView) 7.0 removes support for the
following HPE LTS legacy platforms:

• HPE Synergy Composer (1st gen)

• HPE StoreVirtual Storage systems
• Brocade Network Advisor (BNA)
• HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage system OS 3.2.2 or earlier versions
• Arista switch integration

Update path: You can update to HPE OneView 7.0 from HPE OneView 6.6,
6.5, 6.4, or 6.3 version.
Note: The update to HPE OneView 7.0 will fail if one or more of the previously
listed HPE LTS legacy platforms are included. Please remove as needed before
attempt to update to HPE OneView 7.0.
