    II. Rationale
    Reading is a skill necessary to a man’s day-to-day life. This however, is not the most
    honed skill of some students in Elementary level. “Youth Literacy Training,” a community
    service work designed by BSEd English 1 students, aims to address this problem.
    In this program, English 1 students aim to improve the reading and writing skills of
    Elementary school students by making them engaged in various activities. Through this, we
    hope that there will be a significant increase in the learners’ ability. We also aim to show that
    reading is as fun as it is necessary.

    III. Objectives
    This event aims to:
    Teach basic literacy skills both to out-of-school and currently studying youth.
    Promote the importance of reading.
    Hone teaching and social skills of English 1 Students.
