    CHAPTER V

    SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

    FINDINGS

    This research study was conducted for the purpose of determining if CCTV
    Cameras has significant effect on Crime Prevention at Delfin Albano, Isabela.

    The data gathering was done through survey questionnaire method. The
    respondents were selected randomly. Among the 40 respondents, the retrieval rate
    was one hundred percent.

    The questionnaire was conducted using three tables of questions on the


    usefulness of CCTV Cameras against property and person and the effectiveness of
    CCTV Cameras on crime prevention. The results showed that the statement of the
    problem was answered. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis was proven that CCTV
    Cameras has significant effect on Crime Prevention at Delfin Albano, Isabela.

    CONCLUSIONS

    Based from the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn:

    1. Majority of the respondents are residents from different barangays.


    2. The study provided that CCTV Cameras are effective in preventing crimes
    with regards to crime against property and persons.
    3. The respondents perceived CCTV Cameras as an effective tool in locating
    suspicious characters in public and general security including safety around
    properties, helped to identify offenders and be used as evidence to support
    offenses.
    4. The effectiveness of CCTV Cameras on Crime Prevention makes the people
    perceived the feeling of safety among individuals who stayed in areas where
    there is CCTV and secured properties where the CCTV is located. And also
    captured individuals in their wrong doings.
    5. The overall findings implied that CCTV Cameras in crime prevention is
    effective.
    RECOMMENDATIONS

    The researchers recommend the following based from the result of the study:

    1. The use of CCTV in an area should be heightened and publicized so as to inform


    the public and act as a deterrent to criminal behavior.
    2. Private and commercial establishments are encourage to have their CCTV cameras
    to ensure full protection and security to their properties and lives.
    3. Public Safety Agencies and LGU’s must invest in CCTV Cameras Installation for
    several reasons especially for safety and crime prevention.
    4. There should be a security personnel or any trusted individual to monitor, to
    examine and to assess CCTV operation day and night, to ensure prompt response in
    case of crime or violation detection
    5. Police must be more aware about CCTV Cameras to check everything that must be
    check to deter potential offenders from criminal activity and help them with the
    detention, investigation and prosecution of the offenders.
    6. A follow up study on the effectiveness of CCTV Cameras on crime
    prevention maybe conducted for a broader and deeper understanding of the
    issue or problem.
