And now, Apple is among the world’s largest companies in terms of information and technology.

This research discusses one of the most important and most dangerous problems faced by human
resources departments, which may affect employees in a very negative way, which leads to a
decline in the company's performance. Employee Selection is one of the most important
characteristics of human resources, which has a negative impact if the wrong employee is chosen
for the position, but it is positive if the right person is chosen, as this may result in high
performance for the company and an appropriate work environment, and job satisfaction among
employees is achieved. Apple faces a problem in its “employee selection” of employees, which
has resulted in many effects on the company in achieving its strategic goals and affected
employees in terms of the surrounding workers’ environment and their insecurity because they
suffer from racism and harassment. This research discusses the causes of this problem and its
impact on Apple. Apple did not choose suitable employees for the company, and this affects the
company negatively if it does not find a solution to the problem.

Explain the Term (Employee selection):

The process of placing the right men in the correct jobs is known as employee selection. It is the
process of connecting organizational needs with people's abilities and qualifications. Only when
there is effective matching can effective selection be made. The firm will receive superior
employee performance by picking the best individual for the desired role. Furthermore, the
company will have less issues with absenteeism and employee turnover. The organization will
save time and money by picking the best candidate for the job. During the selection process,
candidates are properly screened. All potential applicants who apply for a job are put to the
exam. For the needed task, selection entails selecting the best individual with the best abilities,
skills, and knowledge.

Harassment and Racism along with theories

Acting professionally is at the highest part of HR aims and desires due to its importance and
strong effect on the company performance and achievement. As a result, various ideas exist that
explain the importance of good behavior and acting in creating organizational success. The
following are the two primary HR theories on professionalism and development.
· Transformative Learning Theory

Adopting various scientific training approaches, as well as combining transformative learning

with scientific methodologies, allows employees to be active participants in shaping the content
and shape of training, as well as participate in the decision-making process. This, of course,
raises the level of job satisfaction and dedication, both of which are critical to the organization's
growth.
This theory focuses on analyzing group activity and creativity, which aids in finding risks that
have a favorable impact on production. Transformative and experiential learning emphasize
discretion, delegation, and active engagement in the decision-making process.

· Role Theory

is a sociological and psychological notion that believes the majority of everyday action to be the
performance of socially defined categories (e.g., mother, manager, teacher). Each function
entails a set of rights, responsibilities, expectations, norms, and behaviors that must be met. The
model is based on the observation that people behave in predictable ways and that an individual's
behavior is context specific, depending on social status and other circumstances. The term "role
theory" is frequently used as a metaphor.

Scope & the advantages of Employee selection

Employee selection refers to the process of acquiring talent for a given position. This strategy
aims to match job description criteria with candidates' experience, competencies, and credentials.

The employee selection process differs depending on the type of company employed and the
position available. Furthermore, this procedure is critical for any business to fulfil operational
goals since recruiting the proper individual may save a firm time and money, enhance the office
culture, and raise productivity.

The employee selection technique for recruiting is an essential HRM tool since it allows them
only to choose the best workers who can provide the company's services to succeed. One of the
advantages of the employee selection technique is that it allows HRM to access a large pool of
talent by enabling them to access numerous candidates with various skills and abilities, analyze
them, and determine the best talents the business requires. Another advantage of the technique is
that it is objective; since it allows HRM to evaluate different candidates and job requirements, it
helps them hire the best candidate.

Besides the advantages listed above, the employee selection process takes time since it requires
a thorough examination of all aspects of a job need in order to match the employer's
expectations. Additionally, the process entails several phases, making finding the perfect person
challenging. Finally, it is costly since the procedure might take many days or weeks, especially
with many applications.

Reasons for choosing the topic:

Apple is one of the most successful companies in the field of electronics and is considered one of
the largest companies in the consumer electronics industry. But in a previous report, Apple
employees filed a complaint against the company they work for, “Apple” they were not satisfied
and did not feel secure in their jobs. In this case, the situation requires intensive study and
research work on the main reasons that called the employees of a company such as Apple to file
a complaint against the company. Unfortunately, Apple was not responsive to its employees,
hearing their complaints, meeting their needs, and addressing weaknesses. It was nothing but
Apple not to respond to any complaint submitted by the employee in terms of racism and
harassment. Apple must investigate this issue and provide a solution to this problem, otherwise
the company will lose its market position and may issue campaigns against thelo company,
which may lead to huge losses for the company. The company also loses its reputation, its
employees, as well as the trust of its customers. There may be a problem in strategic
management, so Apple was not successful in selecting employees and putting them in the right
place. Also, Apple did not achieve a suitable environment for its employees, which makes it lose
good employees. One of the most important reasons for choosing this topic is to provide an
appropriate solution with minimal losses to Apple and not lose its market position or the trust of
its customers.

Response to globalization
Globalization is a defining word of our age and the way in which we live. It affects people,
companies, their workforce and consumers. Apple adopted the Global Strategy. They assume a
Global culture with the same needs despite interacting through countless borders. Global
enterprises like Apple are pressured to configure their value chain. Apple Inc has realized the
significance of globalization by spreading all over the world. Apple’s main strategy is broad
differentiation. This strategy focuses on key features that differentiate the company and its goods
from competitors. Through the broad differentiation main strategy, Apple stands out in the
market. Moreover, Apple is good at catching opportunities in the global market. Here are some
points to Apple responded to globalisation:

· As a multi-national corporation, Apple Inc has realized the significance of globalization

by spreading all over the world.
· Apple created factories overseas, in order to take advantage of the cheap labor, and to
mass produce their products.
· Apple is good at seizing opportunities in the global market.

For example, Apple and China Mobile (the world’s largest mobile carrier with 740 million
subscribers) have been working on an iPhone distribution agreement for more than six years.

· In 2006, Apple employed nearly twice as many people outside of America to produce
iPod. Apple has gradually become a visional company that offers work to people outside
of America.
·
Apple’s revenue highly dependent upon performance in overseas markets

The issues faced by the organization

The issue facing Apple’s company is that the workers have a toxic workplace culture. The
company has asked around 500 employees in Apple across their company and gotten some
reviews, and unfortunately allot of the reviews were employees complaining about the problems
that are happening in the company, some were complaining about racism, sexism, retaliation,
harassment.

Which resulted in having employees withdraw fast, so they wouldn’t continue for a long time in
their job, which leads to big losses to the company because new employees are hard to train
when they are most of the company’s employees.

Withal, the overall performance for Apple’s company is causing lots of losses, which results in
having a very high turnover, commitment and Morales, and a lot more. Researches show that the
reason to this is because the Employee Selection in the Human Resource Management at the
company is not done the right way, Apple does not have a great skill when choosing the right
employee, the problem maybe that the higher employees are the ones causing this problem and
these employees are the exact ones that are hiring the rest which leads to this problem, because
they get treated in bad way from them.

So, if Apple focuses on their employee selection, they probably would have loyal employees,
because they are the ones that are making the lower employees deal with these issues because
employees in the company are not chosen right.
