II. ESSAY: (5 pts. Each)

Answer in 100 words or more what is being asked eloquently and comprehensively.

1. Why are Volleyball players often times the most athletic players?

Volleyball requires a unique blend of physical attributes and skills that make players some of the
most athletic athletes in the world. The sport demands great levels of agility, speed, power, and
endurance, all of which are crucial components of athleticism.

Volleyball players also require excellent hand-eye coordination, reaction time and balance to
perform well. They are constantly moving back and forth across the court, jumping high to block or spike
the ball, diving for digs, making quick lateral movements, and performing explosive jumps.

These movements require great levels of explosive and functional strength, flexibility,
coordination, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. Moreover, the length of the court and the height of the
net, which stands at over 7 feet for men and over 6 feet for women, require great levels of explosive
power, generating high jumping ability and arm swing velocity. These combined qualities make volleyball
players some of the most athletic players in sports.

2. Which do you prefer, basketball or volleyball? Why?

Personally speaking, I prefer basketball more simply because it’s a lot simpler to understand and
play compared to volleyball in my opinion. What this translates to in a very basic way is that I’m too
dumb to bother myself with Volleyball’s complicated way of play making and play style. Not to mention
the rules which in essence might seem to look easy to understand, but is incredibly complicated in its
own way.

Compared that to basketball which has only a few things needed to be understood by a player in
order to be able to play the sport. It is a kind of sport which is pretty easy to get into but has a very high
skill ceiling, which is a good thing for me. Because it enables casual players like me to play it for fun and
not worry too much if I’m messing something up or not.
