"Sheet-Fed" and "Continuous" Import
Images captured with the LJ-X Series can be imported using the two methods below.
12
Selecting Between Sheet-Fed and Continuous Import
Select "Capture Area Settings" from under "Head" in "Head Settings".
13
1.2 Setting the Optimal Position
A screen like the one shown below will display when the
device is powered on for the first time. Select the mode
and language.
A screen like the one shown to the left will display when
the device has been restarted.
Firstly, use the corresponding function to confirm that the
head is installed at the optimal height.
14
Adjusting Exposure Time and Dynamic Range
Next, adjust the exposure time and dynamic range.
*Adjust while observing the amount of received light when stationary. This section describes how to check the screen and
the amount of received light. This may not be appropriate for actual line adjustments. Be sure to account for this in practice.
15
• Adjusting with "Sensitivity Adjustment" (*Default setting)
16
• Adjusting with "Manual Settings"
17
• "Irregular Reflection Removal Filter"
18
1.3 Profile Adjustment Settings
• Vibration Correction
Corrects for vibration factors in height data.

2.1 Adjusting Line Scan Intervals
21
• When line scan intervals are programmable encoder-specified
Utilise the trigger input and move the targets to project
the processed images.
22
2.2 Using Programmable Encoders
Furthermore, with the LJ-X8000 Series, using the dedicated encoder (CA-EN100H/U) allows for the number of pulses per
revolution to be set to any value, making it easy and flexible to set up in a manner which suits different worksites.
Even if not using the dedicated encoder, the number of pulses can still be easily adjusted via "Line Scan Interval
Adjustment".

*1. Connect only when setting the number of pulses for the unit.
23
• Example when using "XY Ratio Adjustment Navigation"
Captures images with current encoder parameters, and temporarily sets a scaling coefficient
based on actual size values and measurement values (number of pixels) obtained from captured
images.
Programmable encoder parameters will be calculated automatically to bring the temporary scaling
coefficient X/Y values closer to 1:1.
Press "XY Ratio Adjustment Navigation".
(1) Press .
24
Using Programmable Encoders from Other Companies
The basic procedures for when using programmable encoders from other companies are the same as those for the
dedicated encoder.
*See the previous page for the procedures.
What is different is the result displayed when the "Reflect Parameters" button is pressed.
The pulley size or encoder pulses are fixed when using encoders from other companies, and so, the corresponding pulley
sizes or numbers of pulses must be calculated in advance.
If using the dedicated encoder, the number of pulses per revolution can be adjusted, allowing users to make fine
adjustments according to the specifications of the devices being used.
