    NOTICE
    Subject- Guidelines related to Selecting

    [a] Open Elective (EO) courses REGULAR & BACKLOG for V Semester and VII
    semesterof B.Tech. programmes – 2022-23, NSUT

    i. V semester and VII semester EO courses will run through NPTEL.


    ii. EO (NPTEL) courses are of 12 weeks.
    iii. All students of NSUT BTech Programme are required to complete a total of 3 Open
    Elective courses, one course per semester, one from each pool of courses (Science,
    Management, Humanities and Social Science) during their 4 years of degree program.
    iv. A list of online courses (4 credits each) available on NPTEL portal have been selected by
    the competent authority, and grouped in three pools,
    POOL-A – Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biological Science)
    POOL-B – Management
    POOL-C – Humanities and Social Science

    Procedure to select EO NPTEL courses

    1. The list of courses for both REGULAR and BACKLOG (NPTEL for EO) in different
    pools (refer ANNEXURE-I for V sem courses and ANNEXURE-II for VII sem
    courses) are given.
    2. Students of NSUT [courses for 5th semester and 7th semester regular and Backlog] will
    be required to fill in their choice (choices will be accepted through CUMS) in order of
    their preference.
    3. Allocation of NPTEL courses will be done based on merit (last available SGPA) and
    other criteria by CUMS.
    4. Name of the course allocated to student will be reflected in the CUMS portal of each
    student.
    5. Based on the course allocation, students should visit the SWAYAM portal and
    register/enrol for the course as a ‘student’ with their nsut.ac.in login ID.
    6. At the time of registration in NSUT, students should submit/produce their registration
    receipt to the registration officer.
    7. Any discrepancy in course allocation and registration records may lead to cancellation
    of the student’s enrolment for the course.
