🧵07/10 of our Mini-series on account of 73rd #Vardhanti Mahotsava(Birth

anniversary) of #Jagadguru #Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha
Mahaswamiji: During an Anugraha Bhashanam, speaking on the greatness of
Sri #AdiShankaracharya #Bhagavatpada, Sri Sannidhanam explained that
Bhagavatpada established the correct import of the Vedas through His
commentaries and travelled throughout the country gracing innumerable
people. As the Shrutis (#Vedas), Smritis, and the various #Rishis may "seem to
state" differing opinions on matters pertaining to #Dharma, we have to look up
to a great personage to understand the nuances of Dharma. courtesy

Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada is that great personage who showed
us all the true import of Vedic Dharma. Sri Sannidhanam recounted a famous
verse highlighting the greatness of #Vedanta and Bhagavatpada – शास्त्रं
शारीरमीमांसा दे वस्तु परमेश्वरः । आचार्याः शङ्कराचार्याः सन्तु मे जन्मजन्मनि
॥ (How many ever be the births I have to take, may the Vedanta Shastra be
my Shastra, Parameshwara be my Lord and Sri Adi Shankaracharya be my
Acharya) Bhagavatpada Himself has defined the Guru as one who has known
the Vedanta Tattva and ever strives for the upliftment of the disciple –
अधिगततत्त्वः शिष्यहिताय उद्यतः सततम ्. It is our fortune that we have such
a Guru for us in Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam. Recounting
that His Guru had taught Him all the Shastras and had blessed Him with the
holy order of Sannyasa, Sri Sannidhanam stated that the second line of the
above verse could very well be chanted “आचार्याः भारतीतीर्थाः सन्तु मे
जन्मजन्मनि”. #Sringeri #shankaracharya #SanatanaDharma #sanatandharma

anniversary) of #Jagadguru #Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha
Mahasannidhanam : “In 1974, at Sringeri I, with all due apology, asked His
Holiness(Jagadguru Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji) as to whether
He was having in mind the appointment as His Sishya, the #Brahmachaari who
was learning Tarka, etc., at the Math. I conjectured that His Holiness could
have such an intention. His Holiness told me that He was contemplating it, but
had not reached a decision. While so, He asked me casually to fetch the
almanac (Panchangam) and He started discussing an auspicious date for
Shishya-Sweekaram, I could not follow the #almanac as it was in Kannada
script. He indicated a place in an open almirah and asked me to take the Tamil
version of the almanac. I located the same and was about to take that out,
when a piece of paper fell from the top of the bookshelf. His Holiness noticed
this and wanted it to be brought to Him. It happened to be the cyclostyled
copy of the brochure in Kannada of the #Shishya-Sweekaram program of His
Holiness by His Guru Sri Chandrasekhara Bharathi in 1931. His Holiness
immediately exclaimed that Goddess had given Him the favourable signal for
the Sishya-Sweekaram. We both went through the almanac and the date was
fixed for Sishya-Sweekaram, scheduled for November 1974. He made His
decision public during Navarathri.” - Sri Vaidyasubramanya Iyer On the night
prior to His saṁnyāsa, Sri Anjaneyulu was to keep awake beside a sacred fire
duly set up in the structure housing the samādhis of the 33rd and 34th
pontiffs. Sri Subbaramaiya was with Him that night. Jagannathan (who was
known as Śrī Śāntānanda Bhāratī after he became a monk) came out of
Sacchidananda Vilas that night to answer a call of nature and walked past the
samādhis. As he did so, he perceived Sri #Anjaneyulu sitting alone close to the
sacred fire, melodiously chanting the name of Lord Rāma and oblivious of His
surroundings. This is what he emphatically told me two days later. I learnt from
Sri Subbaramaiya that he was with Sri Anjaneyulu throughout that night and
that they were in the room in front of the 34th pontiff’s samādhi. Hence, if
Jagannathan had not been hallucinating, Sri Anjaneyulu should have been in
two places at the same time that night. Sri Anjaneyulu became a saṁnyāsin on
11th November, 1974 and was blessed by His Holiness with the yoga-paṭṭa
‘Bhāratī-tīrtha’. - From The Multifaceted Jivanmukta #Sringeri #shankaracharya

anniversary) of #Jagadguru #Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha
Mahasannidhanam : Sitarama Anjaneyulu (The Acharyal’s name in HH's
poorvashrama) was born into a devout family bearing the name "Tangirala", of
Apastamba sutra, Krishna sakha, Kutsasa gotra, living in Alugumallepadu village
in Palnadu area of Guntur, on the banks of river Naguleru. He was born on
April 11, 1951 as a result of long prayer by his father Sri Venkateshwara
Avadhani and mother Smt Anantalakshmamma. With a great desire to have a
son, Sri Avadhani used to wake up early in the morning, bathe in the river and
worship Lord Bhavani Shankara, the local deity, with Rudrabhishekha. This he
did for a year. He also used to perform Sri Rama Navaratrotsava. He took a vow
to name his child after Sita and Rama if his wish was fulfilled. The Lords
Shankara and Rama were kind to him. He was blessed with a son. For her part,
Smt.Anantalakshmamma had sought Lord Anjaneya's favour and promised to
name the male child born to her 'Anjaneyulu'. Hence the infant was named
Sitarama Anjaneyulu. Sri Sitarama Anjaneyulu even at the age of three evinced
signs of great devotion towards the Gods. The name of Lord Shiva was on his
lips constantly. During his boyhood days he used to forget himself worshipping
the Lord. Born in into a family of Vedic scholars as a result of great penance of
His parents, Sri Seetharama Anjaneyalu became renowned for His strict
dharmic ways of life, deep devotion to God and uncompromising desire for
scriptural learning, even as a young boy. As a small boy, Sri Anjaneyalu used to
visit the houses of His relatives and return home well in time. One day He did
not return for a very long time. Smt. Anantalakshmamma felt worried and
started searching for Him in almost all her relatives" places but could not find
Him anywhere. With her fears growing, she finally visited the temple of Lord
Hanuman near her house. To her great relief she saw the child sleeping under
a tree. She woke Him up and scolded Him but was extremely surprised at His
polite reply: "I was only saying 'Sambo, Siva Siva, Sambo, Siva Siva and fell
asleep. Why, anything wrong?" The amazed mother could not reply. Sri
Anjaneyalu seemed to be calm and composed in spite of having lost the
company of His mother. His courage was what surprised her a lot! His
Upanayanam took place in 1957 and he was duly initiated into Vedic studies by
his erudite father. Courtesy ahambrahmaasmi. org By the time he was nine, he
had acquired considerable command over the divine language Sanskrit.
Aachara and Puja were ingrained in Sri Anjaneyalu from a very young age.
“Once everyone had to attend a function in the peak of summer. By mid-day,
everyone decided to quench their thirst by purchasing a chilled soda. However
he, despite being only a 6 year old, refused it affirming that he would only
consume home cooked items and never eat anything prepared outside. Such
was his resolve at such a young age. When he was around 9, our family had
been to attend a sacred thread ceremony. He had not taken breakfast but felt
hungry at 11 am. The hosts were in a fix because there was nothing to appease
his hunger then. That was when my father suggested that a Panchayatana Puja
and a coconut be given to him and he will get engaged in Puja. That suggestion
was immediately accepted. Sure enough, he kept himself immersed in Puja
feeling neither hunger nor thirst, until he was called for lunch a few hours
later.” - Ve Br Sri T. Dakshinamurthy (Premonastic brother of the Mahaswamiji)

anniversary) of #Jagadguru #Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha
Mahasannidhanam : "Blessed with the fortune of serving this great Sage in
whatever little way I could, I would like to share a few of my edifying
experiences, illustrative of the immense benefits that accrue from the
association with great souls. In 1994, I was blessed with the divine opportunity
of penning His Holiness's first detailed biography. Needless to say, I was
trembling! I went about the task by reading published information such as
souvenirs of the Mutt, and interviewing devotees, pundits and persons who
were close to His Holiness. Each and every interaction only confirmed
Acharyal's astonishing academic and spiritual attainments, thereby increasing
my trepidation about my ability to complete the task undertaken. #Jagadguru
#SriSri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Himself had praised Him as "one who is more
scholarly than the most erudite of scholars." Having completed this homework,
I proceeded to meet Acharyal Himself. When the moment came, sensing my
thoughts, His Holiness said, "Before we start the session, I have a statement to
make. Whatever excellence you find in me is due solely to the abundant grace
of my Guru, Sharada and Chandramoulishwara. I have no claims to make in my
individual capacity." He paused for a while, smiled and said, "Yes, I am done.
Now you may pose your questions." I was speechless! That day I experienced
the real import of the adage: "The true mark of a Mahatma is his
unfathomable humbleness." courtesy ahambrahmaasmi .org Even a single
conversation with this sage of supreme wisdom is immensely beneficial. His
answers are to the point, lucidly structured and comfortable to receive. Once, I
asked Him, "Which human tendency should be constantly kept in check by
everyone to ensure peaceful life?" Pat came the reply: "Finding fault with
people and things." "Why does Acharyal feel so was my next question. He
laughed and said, "Everyone seems to be interested in nonchalantly criticizing
others, but no one seems to be ready to accept criticisms from others. People
don't realize the import of 'What you sow, so you reap"." How very true! "So,
what would be Acharyal's advice here?" I posed my concluding question.
"Avoid finding faults and cultivate Acceptance of what has come upon you,
with the determination to make the best out of it. Thereby not only will your
worldly life be trouble-free, but you will also become fit for spiritual
introspection." Acharyal's dedication to dharma is so deep that I have on
several occasions thought of Him as an embodiment of Dharma itself. He does
not allow even to infinitesimal proportions, a lax in the sincere performance of
duties prescribed both for His life as a Sanyasi, and for the status assigned to
Him by His Guru as a Peethadhipati. His pontifical commitments are extremely
demanding. Yet, He carries them out with amazing ease even when He is
physically unwell. Years ago, once I was blessed to be in His sacred presence,
His Holiness was coughing intermittently. I asked, "Acharyal seems unwell..."
He replied: "Yes, this body seems to have contracted some disease." "Wouldn't
Acharyal consider some rest from the routine?" I said, with due apologies for
sounding suggestive. "Why rest? There is still energy in this body. I can move! I
would rather prefer to attend to My duty than to remain idle, as long as there
is even one percentage of energy remaining in this body." Acharyal's Guru
bhakti is matchless. I asked Him, "What does Acharyal consider as the greatest
gift of God to Him?" He immediately closed His eyes, joined His palms and
replied in a tone of great reverence said “Being blessed with Sri Sri Abhinava
Vidyatirtha as my Guru.” His Holiness is a divine spring of gushing grace where
all afflicted souls can slake their disquiet and distress. An unfathomable ocean
of compassion, this Jeevanmukta has been the guiding spirit for millions of
earnest seekers of peaceful life and supreme knowledge." -Sri K Suresh

Mahasannidhanam : "In the past ten years I have had many occasions to visit
the Sringeri Peetham. One can only admire the constancy of the continuous
line of succession or Parampara, which has been kept up ever since Adi
Shankara founded the Peetham. During Darshan, though the whole setting is
informal and personal with a lot of laughter and plainly much happiness all
around, yet it is also clear that nothing - really nothing - escapes the sharp and
watchful eye of HH. His power of observation is clearly very great and
penetrating. Everything is weighed and valued. Every time the blessing of
Darshan of Jagadguru #SriSri Bharathi Tirtha is special because even in a split
second he seems to fathom one's presence and his penetrating glance acts like
a laser-beam of purifying light. In his presence, discriminating between right
and wrong 'Viveka', becomes a practical proposal. courtesy aham brahmaasmi.
org Since the first visit in the year 2000, I had many subsequent occasions to
revisit Sringeri and have Darshan of His Holiness. He also saw me personally
from time to time: a rare blessing. I had also received blessings for translating
Vivekachoodamani and Bhagavad Gita into Dutch. I vividly remember,
however, how I arrived in the year 2006 or 2007 and entered into the new
audience hall (Guru Nivas) & sat somewhere near the middle of the hall and
prostrated when His Holiness entered into the hall. As usual, His Holiness sat
on the little dais and started to look around. From the far distance he noticed
my presence and greeted me with a hardly noticeable nod of his head. I looked
straight at His Holiness and suddenly I was aware of the presence of the
complete guru Parampara of Sringeri with its 36 Jagadgurus. But what was
even more special was that behind the presence of His Holiness, as he was
seated in that hail, there appeared a majestic and far larger-than-life-size
figure which was obviously Adi Shankaracharya Bhagavatpada himself. It
happened all of a sudden and lasted only for a moment or two. But it took a
long time for me to really appreciate what I had seen. It happened so quickly in
the first place and at the same time, it had the quality of utter simplicity and
also as if it were self-evident. It was then that I realised how special this place
is and how blessed we are to have the direct benefit of the complete guru
Parampara through the agency of His Holiness Sri Bharati Tirtha." - Mr. Paul G.

Mahasannidhanam : राजाधिराजसंसेव्यं राजविद्यागुरुं श्रये |
शिष्यालिवन्द्यपादाब्जं भारतीतीर्थदे शिकम ् || I seek refuge in Jagadguru Sri
Bharati Tirtha, the preceptor of the sovereign knowledge (Self-knowledge),
who is adored by the kingly nobles, and whose lotus-like-feet are adored by all
disciples. "The richest possession that we Shishyas have got is this Guru
Parampara. What other richness do we need in life? How has this happened?
For 1200 years, our Gurus have been doing Tapas for us in Sringeri. Have they
done Tapas for benefit of their own self? Not at all. During the Vijay Yatra of
1994-95 one of the senior devotees mentioned in his speech, that the first
statement, his ancestor, a rich industrialist when he handed over all his assets
made was - Look children, forget about the physical assets that I am trying to
give it you, I am giving you some other important asset which is the best asset
possible that I can give, and I am sure that it is what you will need to make a
happy living. Having aroused the curiosity of his children as to what that best
asset could be, the father mentioned - I am giving you a Jagadguru, I have
shown you a Guru, I have taken you to a Guru and that is the best asset that
you can have. And if you follow His dictates and lead your life in the way He
directs, you will lead a happy life. That is very very true. If we follow the
dictates of our Jagadguru, there is no doubt that everyone of us can lead a very
contented, peaceful life with all that we want. courtesy ahambrahmaasmi.org
There are so many devotees who come to Sringeri and seek blessings. But
there are innumerable others who can't reach the Jagadguru, but still get
benefitted. Many people ask how is it possible to derive benefit when we don't
go to Sringeri or the Jagadguru comes to our place. The answer is very simple.
The Jagadguru Himself answered once. He said- "Is there any direct connection
between the Sun in the sky and the lotus in the small pond? But as soon as the
Sun rises, the lotus flower in the pond immediately blossoms. The same the
relation between Me and My Shishya. I may be lakhs and lakhs of kilometres
away. But if the Shishya really wants my presence, he can get that." That is the
reason why we call Him the Jagadguru. The Guru who Graces the entire world.
Such is the Jagadguru Parampara with which we have all been associated with.
It is a great privilege that we have had such a Parampara and it is a great
blessing that our Gurus have blessed us to be a part of a great Shishya
Parampara. It is very rare to come across such a Shishya Parampara where
generation after generation, generation after generation the Shishyas come,
pay their respects and revere the Gurus in the unbroken succession as God." -

Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji: Everybody should balance material
pursuits with spiritual ones. We are aware of devotees from a wide spectrum
of professions & businesses who have not only done very well in their fields
but have also practised their Nithya karma & other Dharma Anushtanas
regularly & sincerely. People always set goals in their careers & finances &
embark on the same diligently by working hard, similarly, they should plan
their spiritual progress too. Parents should not only follow this for themselves
but they are also responsible for instilling Dharmic values in their children &
should make sure that their children sincerely follow all the prescribed Karmas.
We insist that they study so much, get good marks & ranks, similarly, we
should chart a schedule for them & make them learn say a chapter of Gita
every month or Adi Shankara stotras as per a pre defined timeline. This human
life of ours has been acquired by expending a lot of merit (Punyam) & Life in
this human body acquires importance as it is only as a human can one can
adhere to Dharma. Our scriptures say: प्रत्यहं प्रत्यवेक्षेत नरश्चरितम ् आत्मनः ।
किं नु मे पशभि ु यं किं नु सत्परु

A #MustRead on the holy Master : Even a remote reference to the Advaitic

(non-dualistic) nature of any form of the god would immediately carry away Sri
Jagadguru to the realms of Samadhi state. This was observed on many
occasions and especially during the pooja HH offered to Sri Chakra. The Lalitha
Sahasra Nama, which is usually chanted in the Sri Chakra pooja is replete with
names which suggest the Advaitic concept of the One Brahman manifesting in
different forms(For ex प्रत्यक्चितीरूपा, ब्रह्मात्मैक्यस्वरूपिणी, ब्रह्मानन्दा…) Sri
Jagadguru would enter into the Samadhi state while chanting these Namas,
and the mechanics of pooja would stop and not proceed to its conclusion. It
would end only when HH would come out of the trance, which could take
many hours. Sri Jagadguru thus exhibited the qualities of a Jeevanmuktha, one
who is liberated in this life itself. #SanatanaDharma #Hinduism #Sringeri

🧵#Jagadguru #Shankaracharya #SriSri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji:
People have a natural capacity to love. Affection requires an object and when
that object is God, it gets labelled bhakti or devotion. Nārada defines bhakti as
extreme love of God. He who attains such devotion no longer longs for
anything and is ever fully satiated and happy. While attachment to wife,
wealth, etc., causes bondage, attachment to God liberates. A sense object
sometimes gives joy and sometimes sorrow. It is not always available and has
several faults. On the other hand, God is ever-captivating, constantly available
and totally free from blemishes. Further, what or who can be as loveable as
God who is the repository of all good qualities? So bewitching are His glories
that even sages who have realized the Truth and have nothing to achieve go
into raptures on thinking of Him. Though intrinsically formless, the kind Lord
does appear in various forms to grace His devotees and to enable people to
easily contemplate on Him. The scriptures describe several marvellous forms of
the Supreme. The Lord’s mercy extends to all. Did not Rāma tell Sugrīva when
the latter voiced concern about accepting Vibhīṣaṇa, “To anyone who seeks
refuge in Me but once, saying, ‘I am Yours’, I grant fearlessness”? A sincere
devotee has no cause for any worry, for he has surrendered his body and mind
to God and left everything in God’s hands. While it is said that a true devotee is
in God’s loving care, it would be wrong to infer that a devotee ought not to
have any hardship. The Lord is, after all, not only most compassionate but also
perfectly just. If a person had committed major transgressions in earlier births,
allowing him to go scot-free, without any punishment in the form of suffering,
would be a travesty of justice. A judge who refuses to penalise murderers on
the ground of kindness would be doing a great disservice to society. He can, of
course, take mitigating circumstances and repentance into consideration to
reduce the punishment awarded to a person found guilty of a crime. Likewise,
God, being just, does award punishment even to devotees, but, being kind,
reduces the penalty to the extent possible. Just because a mother scolds her
child, does it mean that she does not dearly love her offspring? - From the

#Jagadguru: It may be fairly said without fear of contradiction that Sri
Jagadguru had gone through every branch of Sanskrit Literature and retained
most of it in his memory. The most knotty points HH would unravel in a
marvellously easy way to the intense admiration of his audience. The Sastras
were Jagadguru’s playground & would revel in them as often and as much as
he could. Besides, the Sastras HH was adept in Kavyas and dramas also. It was
a very favourite pastime with HH to repeat what are known as Antadi Slokas.
More than a dozen Pandits may range together against the Jagadguru and still
he would be a match to them all. HH would repeat from memory Slokas by
thousands and all his opponents may exhaust all their stores but HH would be
inexhaustible. #Ramayana was HH’s favourite poem. HH would oftentimes
read it and while reading it merge himself in its scenes and laugh or weep as
occasion demanded. It was an exceedingly rare privilege and pleasure to hear
HH read those scenes so excellently portrayed in the Ramayana. Most of the
book HH knew by heart and when HH read them the hearer would feel as
though transported to the actual scenes and would be carried away by
emotions suited to the occasion. HH was a very good poet. But all his powers
of composition were directed towards praising the gods and invoking their
blessings on mankind. When HH entered a shrine HH would involuntarily begin
to repeat Slokas. HH cared not for ornate flourishes in his poems. They were
the outpourings of an exuberant soul. Genuine flow of Bhakti could be traced
in each of HH’s poems. HH wrote not for name or fame but would muse on the
deity and would quite unexpectedly fall into the poetic vein and repeat Slokas
after Slokas the force and pathos of which pierced through the hardest heart
and brought tears even to eyes that never before wept under the influence of
religion. Similarly while teaching his disciples any Sastraic work HH would all of
a sudden begin to lecture lucidly and eloquently on the most abstruse points
and on several of these occasions no notes were taken and thus many purest
gems has been lost to the world. HH was intensely earnest in his Bhakti &
would pray to God ardently that HH’s shortcomings may be rectified. HH’s
method of performing Puja was a sight to see. None could hurry him in Puja.
HH may have some one hundred idols before him. Each idol must was
separately worshipped. Each must have its allotted sandal, Akshata, Kumkuma,
and flower. Each must be praised. Each must be meditated upon. Of course Sri
Chandramoulisvara and Sri Sarada occupied the foremost place in HH’s mind.
They stood apart and HH was never satisfied with doing Puja to them. HH may
not on some days do any outward puja to them, but inwardly they never left
his mind. HH used to converse with them freely and even quarrel with them at
times as though they were his playmates. HH would never think of them as
images but would feel their living presence. - Sri T K Balasubrahmanyam To

(रघुवंशम ्/पञ्चमः सर्गः ) As Kalidasa describes, when one lamp is lit from another lamp, there is no
difference between the first lamp and the lamp lit, such is the Sringeri Guruparampara. With the
knowledge, penance, compassion, affection and asceticism of the previous Gurus, I am blessed to
have such a Guru as Sri Mahasannidhanam & consider it the result of meritorious deeds in many
past lives. #Sringeri #shankaracharya #SanatanaDharma #sanatandharma #Hinduism #Rishis #Sages

Golden words & instructions from today's Anugraha Bhashanam by Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara
Bharati Mahaswamiji: Earlier, a number of people used to live under the same roof sharing very
limited space and facilities. The joint family system invariably resulted in at least a dozen people
sharing comforts & burdens happily. Of late we are witnessing that not even two people are able to
live harmoniously under the same roof in spite of overflowing material comforts. Why have we
reached this stage? Is it that there were none or limited troubles in the olden days? Not at all,
troubles always manifest in ‘samsara’ irrespective of the period. ‘Samsara’ is ‘klesha maya’.
However, earlier people had the ‘qualities’ & bent of mind to adapt to or withstand any
circumstance as they were totally aware of all the trials and tribulations people undergo by virtue of
studying Maha Granthas like #Ramayana, #Mahabharata, #Raghuvamsha and the like. Hence one
must never give up the #parampara and should strictly adhere to all the aspects of #Dharma.

🧵07/10 of our Mini-series on account of 73rd #Vardhanti Mahotsava(Birth anniversary) of

#Jagadguru #Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji: During an Anugraha Bhashanam,
speaking on the greatness of Sri #AdiShankaracharya #Bhagavatpada, Sri Sannidhanam explained
that Bhagavatpada established the correct import of the Vedas through His commentaries and
travelled throughout the country gracing innumerable people. As the Shrutis (#Vedas), Smritis, and
the various #Rishis may "seem to state" differing opinions on matters pertaining to #Dharma, we
have to look up to a great personage to understand the nuances of Dharma. courtesy

ृ यश्च भिन्नाः नैको मुनिर्यस्य वचः प्रमाणम ् । धर्मस्य तत्त्वं
निहितं गुहायां महाजनो येन गतः स पन्थाः ॥ Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada is that
great personage who showed us all the true import of Vedic Dharma. Sri Sannidhanam recounted a
famous verse highlighting the greatness of #Vedanta and Bhagavatpada – शास्त्रं शारीरमीमांसा दे वस्तु
परमेश्वरः । आचार्याः शङ्कराचार्याः सन्तु मे जन्मजन्मनि ॥ (How many ever be the births I have to
take, may the Vedanta Shastra be my Shastra, Parameshwara be my Lord and Sri Adi Shankaracharya
be my Acharya) Bhagavatpada Himself has defined the Guru as one who has known the Vedanta
Tattva and ever strives for the upliftment of the disciple – अधिगततत्त्वः शिष्यहिताय उद्यतः
सततम ्. It is our fortune that we have such a Guru for us in Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha
Mahasannidhanam. Recounting that His Guru had taught Him all the Shastras and had blessed Him
with the holy order of Sannyasa, Sri Sannidhanam stated that the second line of the above verse
could very well be chanted “आचार्याः भारतीतीर्थाः सन्तु मे जन्मजन्मनि”. #Sringeri #shankaracharya
