heart of Basavanagudi stretches for a short distance of 300m, bordered on both sides by shops. This road
connects Krishna Rajendra Road and Bull Temple Road. Substantial pedestrian activity is seen along the
road due to the presence of commercial land use. Street vending / hawking is observed on both sides of
the road. The street exceeds its capacity during peak hours by heavy bi-directional movement of traffic.

There were very little or no basic street

M.G ROAD
ABOUT
M. G. Road is also one of the busiest roads in the city and is lined on one
side with retail stores, food outlets, restaurants and many more. It has
many office buildings, shops and theatres. It is also a home to many
buildings and banks.

This street has metro line running along its length and is known for being
very busy. There is a huge movement of vehicles along this street and the
existence of a well-known art center, Rangoli Metro Art Centre. Hence the
design should cater to the motorists while not being too distracting to
them

In our design we've tried to create a transition path where pedestrians or

the user group gets to experience emotions ranging from comfort and
warmth from the usage of vibrant color and the thread work on sides
creates visual impact on the user passing by both on the road and on the
street

CHURCH STREET
SPOT CHOOSED - IN FRONT OF OLD BUILDING STRETCH
CONTEXT - COMMERCIAL OUTLETS

ABOUT:
This street is famously known as a tourist spot, acting as
a getaway, and offering numerous activities. Since this
street is heavily used by pedestrians, the design should
be very engaging, and informative and must act as a
pause point for the tired pedestrian

SPOT SELECTION FOR CHURCH STREET

The main idea for the design of church street was to
rejuvenate the space next to an old, deserted building
through the use of vibrant colors. The pedestrian
pathways and the affixed public parking area were used
to create pause points with the use of games, seaters,
and also by the play of colours and materials

BRIGADE ROAD
SPOT CHOSEN - INFRONT OF THE MULTIPLE COMMERCIAL SHOPS & NEAR
JUNCTION WHERE ROAD WIDENS
CONTEXT - COMMERCIAL OUTLETS

ABOUT:
This street is a commercial center and a connecting street, dominated by both
vehicles and people. Hence the design should cater to both the motorists and the
people through the use of both visual and interactive installations and design
elements.

SPOT SELECTION FOR BRIGADE ROAD

The main requirement for the spot selection along Brigade Road is to cater to both
pedestrians and motorists. To achieve this, a spot after the Church Street junction and
before the Residency Road junction, where the vehicles need to slow down, is taken.
The junction also widens out, increasing the scope for design along the road’s footpath
and public parking area. Also, the spot chosen is in close proximity to the famous
Samsung Opera house, which attracts large amount of people and its white walls serve
as an apt backdrop to our colour installations.
