3. How and why do river landscapes in New Zealand and Australia differ?

4. To what extent is a place’s climate determined by its location? Use specific


examples to support your answer.

5. Understanding present-day relationships between climate and vegetation allows


us to reconstruct past climates from biological proxies (eg: pollen and tree rings).
Discuss.

6. The partitioning of net radiation (Q*) is determined by the availability of water


and by the ability of the surface to conduct and store heat. Discuss.
