SERVICE CONTRACT
BACKGROUND
This agreement is entered between “Center for Advancement of Rights and Democracy (CARD)",
hereafter referred to as the client, located at Bole Sub City , Woreda - 03, House Number - New ,
Shekinah Building, office Number 701 & 704. , Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Tel. +251-116-671657, e-
mail: [email protected].
AND
“Ameyu Debela” hereafter to as the service provider, Located in [ADAMA], Sub-city Bole Woreda
Goro ,House no. new Mobile no., 0917655217,E-mail: [email protected].
WHEREAS, THE CLIENT desires obtain the services of the teacher in coordinating and facilitating
for its New Generations of Human Rights Defenders (NGHRDs) high school students training.
WHEREAS, THE SERVICE PROVIDER showed interest and demonstrated the necessary
expertise for the task;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CLIENT and THE SERVICE PROVIDER have agreed as follows:
Both parties hereby agreed to be bound by the following terms and conditions:
ARTICLE 1: WORKS TO BE PERFORMED
1.1. The SERVICE PROVIDER hereby agrees to prepare and provide names and contact details
of 20 students list to the client.
1.2. The SERVICE PROVIDER will attend the training events between September – October
2022.
1.3. The SERVICE PROVIDER shall bring her/his students to the festival that will be organized
in Addis Ababa on December 2022.
1.4. To carry out the task mentioned under 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3, the service provider shall cooperate
with CARD at every stage of the assignment, communicate with CARD and send updates via
email by the date specified by CARD.
ARTICLE 2: OBLIGATION OF THE SERVICE PROVIDER
2.1. The SERVICE PROVIDER hereby agrees to prepare and provide names and contact details
of 20 students list to the client.
2.2. The SERVICE PROVIDER will attend the training events between July – October 2022.
2.3. The SERVICE PROVIDER shall bring her/his students to the festival that will be organized
in Addis Ababa on December 2022.
2.4. The Service provider shall pay 30% withholding tax to CARD if she/he has no Tin Certificate
and trade license.
2.5. The Service provider shall pay 2% withholding tax to CARD if she/he has Tin Certificate and
trade license.
ARTICLE 3: OBLIGATION OF THE CLIENT
3.1. THE CLIENT shall make the required payments as stated under Article 4 of this Contract.
3.2. THE CLIENT must provide to the service provider with all necessary facilities that are
essential to undertake her/his assignment.
3.3. Deduct withholding tax and make payment for authorized governmental body.
ARTICLE 4: PAYMENTS
4.1. The gross total payment of the contract for this service shall be 3,000 (Three Thousand
Ethiopian Birr) that will be paid upon the completion of the assigned task.
4.2. The Service provider shall pay 30% withholding tax to CARD if he has no Tin Certificate and
trade license.
4.3. The Service provider shall pay 2% withholding tax to CARD if he has Tin Certificate and
trade license
ARTICLE 5: DATE OF PERFORMANCE
5.1. This contact shall be effective starting from June 28.
ARTICLE 6: TERMINATION OF THE CONTRACT
6.1. This Agreement shall continue in full force until the performance of the contract; December
12th 2022.
ARTICLE 7: LIABILITY CLAUSE
7.1. Breach of any of the obligations specified under this contract will entail civil and/or criminal
liability.
7.2. The service provider should conduct the activity by themselves.
7.3. It is not allowed to pass the information to third party or recruit third party to conduct this
service.
ARTICLE 8: EFFECTIVENESS
This agreement shall remain in full force and in effect from the date upon which the two parties have
signed on it. The above agreement is entered between the two parties whose signatures are subscribed
below.
