I. OBJECTIVES
The learners demonstrate understanding of:
A. Content The organisms as having feedback mechanism, which are coordinated by the nervous, endocrine, and
Standard reproductive systems.
How these feedback mechanisms help the organism maintain homeostasis to reproduce and survive.
B. Performance Create a campaign advertising video about the common and effective contraceptive measure use in
Standard family planning, in line with the Reproductive Health Law.
Describe how the nervous system coordinates and regulates feedback mechanism to maintain
C. Most Essential homeostasis. (MELC S10-IIIc-36)
Learning Specifically, the learners should be able to:
Competencies  identify the major divisions and parts of the nervous system; and
 describe the parts of the nervous system along with their functions.

Everyone, please stand let us pray (Student’s will lead the prayer)

Good Morning Everyone! Good Morning Ma’am!

How are you? Let me check your attendance today. (Answers may vary)
A. (ELICIT)
Our Lesson for today is about the natural computer of
5mins
our body: The Nervous System. At the end of the lesson
you are expected to:
 identify the major divisions and parts of the
nervous system
 describe the parts of the nervous system along
with their functions.

B. (ENGAGE) ODD ORGAN OUT!

5mins Before we start our discussion, I have prepared a short
energizer for you brain. Are you all ready? Yes, Ma’am!

Study each set of diagrams showing the different organs

of the human body. Then, determine which organ does
not belong to the group by putting it on the space
provided, on the second column of the table. Lastly,
explain why the organ doesn’t belong in the group.

Heart, because the heart is part of the

circulatory system, while the rest are parts
of our nervous system.

Page | 1
Lungs, because it is a part of the respiratory
system, while the rest are parts of the female
reproductive system.

Skull, because it is a part of the skeletal

system, while the rest are parts of the
endocrine system.

Intestine, because it is a part of digestive

system, while the rest are parts of the male
reproductive system.

Very Good!

The organs that was shown on the pictures are part of the
Nervous, Endocrine, and Reproductive Systems. So, let
us start our lesson about the Nervous System.

C. (EXPLAIN) What is the Nervous System? It is the control system of our body, Ma’am.
15mins

Yes. Very Good! The nervous system is the natural

control system of the human body. It connects all your
body parts and transmit signals from one part to another.
it also regulates the body’s response to internal and
external stimuli.

Do you have any idea what are the parts of our Nervous Brain, Ma’am.
System? Spinal Cord, Ma’am.
Nerves, Ma’am.

Yes. Very good. All your answers are correct!

Our nervous system is divided into two major divisions. No, Ma’am.
Do you know what are those two?

Okay. Our nervous system is divided into two major

divisions. The Central Nervous System (CNS) and the
Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)

So, Central Nervous System (CNS) Is the processing

center for the entire nervous system and has two main
components: the Brain and the Spinal Cord.

The brain is an organ located within the skull where it

functions as an organizer and distributor of information
for our body.

Do you have any idea on what are the three main parts of
our brain? Cerebrum, Cerebellum, and Brain Stem,
Ma’am.
Yes. Very Good! It is the Cerebrum, Cerebellum, and the
Brain Stem.
Page | 2
The Cerebrum is a large, upper part of the brain that
controls our activity and thought. The
Cerebellum is the part located under the cerebrum that
controls our body’s posture, balance, and coordination.
And lastly our Brain Stem connects the brain to the
spinal cord and controls the automatic functions of our
body such as breathing, digestion, heart rate, and blood
pressure.

While, our Spinal Cord serves as a channel for signals

between the brain and the rest of the body, and controls
reflexes without input from the brain.

The nervous system second division is the Peripheral

Nervous System (PNS). Do you know what PNS are
made of?

Correct! Our PNS are made up of nerves and sensory Nerves Ma’am.
organs. It also connects the CNS to the organs and limbs.
PNS has two main components: we have Somatic
Nervous System and Autonomic Nervous System.

Our Somatic Nervous System is associated with the

voluntary control of our body movements and transmit
sensory message to the CNS, and has two main parts: the
spinal nerves and the cranial nerves. Spinal Nerves carry
motor and sensory signals between the spinal cord and
the body, while Cranial Nerves is a fiber that carry
information into and out the brain stem.

Autonomic Nervous System on the other hand is

associated with the involuntary control of the body
movements and has two main subdivisions: the
Sympathetic – responsible for the “fight or flight”
response, and Parasympathetic – responsible for “rest
or digest” respond.

D. (EXPLORE) Do you have any questions regarding our topic class? ( Answers may vary )
10 mins
Any more questions?
None Ma’am.
Alright, seems everyone is ready for an activity.

Please keep all your notes and close your books and take
out a 1whole piece of paper. (Preparing for an activity)

Our Activity today Is titled: BREAK IT DOWN! Using

the given graphic organizer, fill in the missing parts to
complete the entire concept showing the structure of the
Nervous System. You have 10mins to finish the activity.

(Answers the activity)

Everyone times up! Please exchange papers with your
seatmate. Let us fill in the missing parts of the graphic
organizers.

Who wants to answer number 1? Central Nervous System (CNS)

How about in number 2? Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)
Number 3? Spinal Cord
Number 4? Autonomic Nervous System
Number 5? Cerebrum
Number 6? Cerebellum

Number 9? Cranial Nerves
Number 10? Sympathetic
Number 11? Parasympathetic

Very Good! It seems everyone has listened actively

throughout our discussion.

Let us give ourselves a round of applause for a job well Clap, Clap, Clap.
done!

F. (EVALUATE) Directions: Read carefully each item. Use a separate

5 mins sheet for your answers. Write only the letter of the
correct answer for each question.
