GEOMATIKA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
PROPOSED COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT FOR THE HOMELESS
1.0 BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT

A community service commonly refers to work done by a person or group of people that
benefits others. It is often done near the area where we live, so our own community reaps
the benefits of our work. Volunteers would not get paid to perform community service,
though sometimes food and small gifts, like a t-shirt, are given to volunteers.
A group of students who currently enrol in Community Service subject at Geomatika

University College plan to organize a community service project as part of their course
requirement. The purpose of the community service project is to experience first-hand
the leadership concepts of “contributing to the community and giving back to others”, to
integrate what we are learning in class, and to learn more about our own and others’
leadership skills, to apply the leadership and team work. Thus, the students will be able
to enhance their knowledge and duties to the society and getting the practical knowledge
of community service and how does it work for the community.

1 Fun Run The orphanage need to start run from the center
to shoplet. During the run, commite members
will give a question/ teka teki. If the participants
answer correct, they need to go to another
checkpint.

We hope the management of Geomatika University College can give due
consideration for this project with necessary approval as soon as possible so that we
can start working on this project smoothly as planned.
11.0 CONCLUSION
We believe this program can help to achieve the objectives of the course, e.g. to instill
the leadership and team work among the students while contributing to the wellbeing
of the community.
We really hope the University would lend the needed supports for the success of this
program
