Grammatical gender (rod)

All nouns in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and Montenegrin have grammatical gender: they are
categorized as masculine, feminine, or neuter. It is important to identify the gender of the noun, as
they behave differently in sentences. The vast majority of nouns that end in a consonant are
masculine. Most nouns that end in -a are feminine; and nouns that end in -e or -o are neuter.
Grammatical gender (rod)

MASCULINE: - (consonant). …student, hotel, automobil, telefon, prijatelj,

FEMININE: -a…studentkinja, zima, prijateljica
NEUTER: -e, -o….jutro, vino, ime , pismo, uho
Questions and answers: Is this...?

In the Montenegrin language, we ask questions in two ways: DA LI and JE LI. If the answer is positive,
then we can answer with a short DA, JESTE( yes, it is).
