How do I build a
super league?

The idea has been discussed by the top clubs in

Europe for years, there are already finished
plans: The boredom in the Bundesliga, LaLiga in
Spain, Ligue 1 in France or the Premier League,
where Barcelona, Bayern or Manchester City
dominate and the other teams only play for 3rd
or 5th place, should be replaced by a European
super league in which the top clubs, which are
already playing in a di!erent class, duel.

In Fifa 21, this can be implemented very well in

the English league system, in which all four
leagues are filled with the strongest teams from
Europe – or optionally even worldwide. This
creates a completely new tension in the game,
every game a highlight, a trip to the best
stadiums in Fifa. Teams like Ajax Amsterdam,
who usually circle around in their own league
after 2-3 seasons and o!er so little fun, can
operate in a competitive environment.

This can of course be modified according to your

own taste. The line-ups are based on UEFA’s
assessments of the club’s strengths. In order for
the four superleagues to work, the teams are
distributed across the four leagues according to
strength and regional distribution. The top clubs
are set in LIga 1 and LIga 2, but especially in
League 3 and 4, the selection of largely equally
strong Fifa 21 teams is so large that you can
choose from Rapid Vienna or Legia Warsaw or
Spartak Moscow should rather play there.

How can you switch teams?

When you start a career and select the club, you

go to „Swap teams“ on the start screen, go to
the Y key or triangle on consoles, then you can
move any team to any league and then transfer
it back again.

How do the domestic leagues stay exciting?

The English league system is used as a template

for the super league because there are only four
simulated leagues in FIFA 21 there. FC
Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG can be moved
to the Premier League, Borussia Dortmund to
the English second division, and so on.

This takes about 40 to 60 minutes – and be

careful: don’t start the game by mistake,
otherwise the e!ort will be in vain. The displaced
English teams will initially remain parked in the
national leagues there. If you are only interested
in the development of the super league, you can
leave it there and ignore the Bundesliga or Ligue
1.

Distribution of the English teams

However, there are two reasons to pay more

attention to these “gutted” leagues: The game
gets a lot more realism and atmosphere if you
can also follow the development of the new
Bundesliga without English third division clubs
showing up there. In addition, you can get such
well-known opponents in the Champions
League, which continues to recruit its
participants from the national leagues.

English teams move

There are plenty of English teams left that have

been „driven“ out of the English league system.
You can either pack these teams into one
country (Scotland or Ireland, depending on the
language and culture) and let them fight their
own English championship. Or you can split
them up into smaller leagues so that these
teams prevail and reappear in the Champions
League. The third option is to move it to an
unimportant league and ignore it, or to „rest of
the world.“

Revitalizing the Bundesliga

This is what the super league could look like –

with the best teams from all over Europe.

championship at some point, you should push
the English teams away – and you can fill the 
Bundesliga from below: third division into the


The free places in league 2 and 3 can be
supplemented with Austrian or Swiss teams,

creating a German-speaking LIga, so to speak.
Over the years, this creates an exciting German
system.

In France you can do this with Belgian teams

and in Spain with Portuguese teams, so that the
cultural character is preserved. Depending on
which leagues are important to you as a
functioning unit.

Option: Real competition in the Champions

League

And now the freestyle, so to speak: So that not

only the Super League teams stay among
themselves in the Champions League and the
German champions are eliminated in the
preliminary round, you can create new „national
champions“, such as SV Werder Bremen or 1.
Assign a few strong players to FC Köln. Over the
years, with the money from the Champions
League – if the AI doesn’t run them down
completely – they should also be exciting
opponents in the European Cup competitions.

What do the cup competitions look like?

Because through the Super League, the
Champions and Europa League look pretty
confusing in the first year. Fifa then places the
teams from the other countries on the starting
positions, which replace Manchester United,
Borussia Dortmund and Co. Therefore you can
strengthen some teams as described above.

ATTENTION: If you want to „heavily edit“ some

teams before the start of your career, i.e. make
them toptemas by individual transfers of good
players, you have to do this BEFORE STARTING
YOUR CAREER, namely (in the main menu
„Customize teams“ – „Transfers“). Then select
„Use current squad“.

English cup competitions are exciting!

The many English cup competitions, which are

then de facto Super League competitions, are
really interesting. The FA Cup, the Carabao Cup
and, in the lower three leagues, the EFL Trophy
will be exciting eliminations against the strong
Super League teams. But of course they
generate little money, so the Champions League
remains the measure of all things.
