Bad nutrition

Good morning everyone. First of all, I would like you to be asking yourself a question: Do you
often feel tired throughout the day? Or have you been experiencing frequent illnesses? If yes,
this presentation will answer this question for you because today I am going to talk about one of
the possible reasons that is bad nutrition. And I hope that by the end of the presentation, you’ll
know how to stay healthy and avoid bad nutrition. As my relative is malnourished, I have seen
firsthand the impact of poor nutrition on health. I have helped him make positive changes to his
diets, leading to significant improvements in their overall health and wellbeing. There are 3 main
points that I am going to present today. For my first point, I will talk about the negative effects of
a poor diet. Then, my second point is about the importance of essential nutrients. And the last
point that I will present today is strategies for making healthier choices.

So, let’s begin with the first point.

A poor diet can have negative impacts on your health both physically and mentally. Consuming
a diet that is high in calories, sugar and unhealthy fats can lead to weight gain, and an
increased risk of chronic diseases due to high blood pressure. For example, a diet high in trans
fats can cause a risk of heart disease. In addition to physical health risks, a poor diet can also
affect your cognitive function, mood, and overall energy levels. For example, a diet high in sugar
can lead to depression and anxiety as being overweight can also impact on self-esteem.
This brings me to the end of the first point.

Moving to the second point,

I will explain about essential nutrients that are vital for your body. These nutrients include
vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, and healthy fats. They play a significant role in maintaining
your physical health, such as supporting your immune system, promoting healthy digestion, and
helping to prevent chronic diseases. For example, vitamin D is essential for bone health, and
fiber can help regulate digestion. In addition to physical health benefits, essential nutrients also
maintain mental health. For instance, omega-3 fatty acids can help reduce depression and
anxiety.
Alright, This leads to the end of the second point.

So, let’s move to the last point.

I will talk about strategies for making healthier choices. One strategy is to start by incorporating
more nutrient-dense foods into your diets. These foods provide essential nutrients that your
body needs to function optimally. For example, we can choose to snack on fresh fruits and
vegetables instead of processed snacks that are high in sugar and unhealthy fats. Another
strategy is to be mindful of portion sizes and avoid overeating. By taking the time to slow down
and savor your meals, you can give your body time to signal when you are full. Moreover, you
should plan and prepare meals ahead of time to avoid the temptation of grabbing fast food or
convenience meals that are often high in calories and lacking in nutrients.

Alright, this brings me to the end of my presentation. Firstly, I have spoken about the impact of
poor nutrition on health, Secondly I have talked about the importance of essential nutrients.
Lastly, I have explained about strategies for making healthier choices. By following the
strategies, you can make positive changes that benefit yourself. So let's start today and make
healthier choices for a healthier tomorrow. Thank you.
