Introduction
I am Dipesh Mahato, son of Mr. Sita Ram Mahato and Mrs. Anju Mahato, a permanent
resident of Ratnanagar Municipality ward No 5, Chitwan, Nepal and holder of Nepalese
passport number PA0274488. I was born on 23rd November 2002. My goal has always been to
earn a degree from Australia. As we are all aware, Australia boasts a top-notch educational
system, first-rate living accommodations, a warm community, and a free way of life. So, to gain
my dream I, with full consent of my parents, have decided to study Bachelor of Business
(Hospitality and Tourism Management) in Kaplan Business School, Adelaide.

Family Background
We are 4 members in a family. It consists of my parents, uncle and me. My father, Mr. Sita
Ram Mahato is a working as a Maintenance Engineer at Magic Food India Pvt. Ltd, Tamil
Nadu, India. My mother, Mrs. Anju Mahato is a homemaker. My uncle (father’s elder brother),
Mr. Bikram Chaudhary is a Senior Execuitve at Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Pvt. Ltd., Bharatpur,
Chitwan. My family and I have a close bond, and they have supported me through every phase of
my life, including my decision to study abroad. My parents are going to sponsor me my expenses
in Australia.

Academic Background
Talking about my academic background I had complete my Secondary Education Examination
(SEE) in the year 2019 from Buddha Jyoti Boarding English School, Ratnanagar, Chitwan,
and secured a score of 2.35 GPA. After I completed my secondary level, I enrolled in Paragon
Secondary School, Ratnanagar, Chitwan in management stream with hotel management as my
major subject. I completed my +2 level in 2021 with a 2.61 GPA m Hotel Management. I, the,
did some research for my bachelor’s degree in my home country and wasn’t very satisfied by the
results. I have a keep interest to pursue to my further studies abroad for the internationally
recognized degree. In this regard, I have chosen Australia among other countries like the UK,
USA and Canada. Similarly, I found Australia to be the most favorable for me to continue my
further studies. I then joined PTE classes to be eligible to study there.

English Proficiency
After taking classes for few months, I attempted the Pearson Test of English (PTE) test on 14 th
July 2022 and scored an overall band score of 50 whereas, I got these scores on respective

Parsa Branch, which will be used to finance my education in Australia. Thus, it is evident that
my family is financially stable and can be bear the expenses that’ll during my study and stay in
Australia.

Reason for choosing Australia

In Nepal here are few universities that run the BHM program. To get admission in these
universities is too tough because of limited seats and competitive entrance examinations.
Nepalese education systems are not globally recognized as well. Here in Nepal, it takes 4 years
to complete a Bachelor degree but in Australia, it just takes 3 years to complete a Bachelor’s
degree. So, I can save one year and can utilize to get work experience within that year.
Furthermore, university courses in Nepal lack practical approach of teaching and learning
environment and also lack modern technology-based infrastructures for the successful grant of
degree. My aim is to work professionally in the field of Hospitality Industry in various areas of
Nepal. So I need an international degree in the related field to stand myself as a competitive
candidate for long term professional career settlement. The colleges in Nepal I looked into are
Pokhara Lincoln International College (LUC), Aayaam International College (PU), Alpine
Management College (PoU), etc.

I have also researched other countries like the USA and the UK but in the USA students need to
sit for a competitive exam like the SAT which takes time. Also, there is no tuition protection
scheme in the USA and UK but Australia has a TPS system under the ESOS Act. Canada’s cold
weather is too harsh for me to handle as I’m from a country with tropical climate.

Among the various education hubs, I decided to continue my further study in Australia as it is a
leading global education powerhouse with the world’s some of the best facilities and tutors,
providing international students with a range of quality education options. Australia is the most
popular international students’ destination. Australia is a multicultural country where students
from more than 80 countries come for their further studies. Being a multicultural society it
allows the new students to cope up easily with the changes and help them learn about different
cultures and religions. Also, securities and facilities provided by the Government of Australia to
the students are also of the top notch which makes it the top place for students and their parents
to pick. It provides a unique kind of learning style that encourages one to be innovative, creative
and think independently. Australia protects its international students through Education Services
for Overseas Students (ESOS) Framework that maintains the education standards for
international students and protects their tuition through Tuition Protection Service (TPS). Also,
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a health insurance covers the health emergencies of
international students and provides them medical services. Commonwealth Register of
Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) provides students a list of institutions
and courses that are granted permission by states and territories, to educate international
students. Hence, Australia is my choice of study destination.

Reasons for choosing Kaplan Business School

Before choosing Kaplan Business School as my study destination, I found various educational
institutions in Australia like Murdoch University, The University of Queensland, and William
Angliss Institute that provide hospitality courses. But these institutions were too expensive for
me and as per my research, their teaching methodologies and course structure didn’t align with
my preference. However, Kaplan Business School had everything I looked for in a Higher
Education Provider.

Since its founding in 2008, Kaplan Business School has expanded from a single local school
with a few hundred students to a nationwide network of campuses. With over 3,500 students,
with undergraduate and graduate programs in business, accounting, marketing, management,
tourism, entrepreneurship, health services, digital management, analytics, projects management,
and leadership, Kaplan Business School is a will-known supplier of higher education degrees in
Australia. Studying with Kaplan Business School is a lifelong investment. Bringing together
students of more than 80 different nationalities, Kaplan Business School (KBS) promotes greater
cultural awareness, social connections and diversity in the classroom. Their small class sizes
enable their expert lecturers to provide students with individual support and make it easier for
students to connect with their peers. Kaplan Business School's subjects focus on the practical
skills employers are looking for in business graduates. Kaplan Business School is proud to be
acknowledged as a global leader in education, helping students define their path to success.
They're here to help students achieve their goals and to provide support along the way. Kaplan
Business School’s provides lifelong support to help students grow. All their students and alumni
have access to Kaplan Business School's career services, professional development and
networking opportunities. Their small class sizes enable their expert lecturers to provide the
support students need. Students have rated Kaplan Business School student support higher than
every public university in Australia. Students have rated Kaplan Business School student support
higher than every public university in Australia. They strictly employ highly competent teachers
who have real world experience so that students can gain industry relevant understanding, not
just academic knowledge. Their deliveries of course are done in an innovative manner as they
focus on how students learn not just what they learn. They provide theoretical knowledge mixed
with practical subjects to develop a certain set of skills in students that employers are seeking
after. Not only that, they look out their students through magnificent student support that helps
students feel taken care of. Their campuses are located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth,
and Sydney. I chose the campus located at Adelaide as it was my city of choice. Since, Kaplan
Business School is not a research institution; it is not listed in publications like QS and Times
Higher Education’s global university rankings. Kaplan is able to focus all of its resources on
what matters most to students, namely the quality of teaching, student support, learner
engagement, graduate outcomes, and employability, by forgoing undertaking research. However,
Kaplan Business School provides Bachelor of Business (Hospitality and Tourism
Management) for total tuition fee of AUD 56,880.00 for 3 years. Kaplan Business School
doesn’t only provide top quality of education but it in a fair price. Hence, these are some of the
reasons why I chose Kaplan Business School as my education provider in Australia.

After managing a motel for four to five years, I can now realize my dream of working as a Hotel
Manager. In my role as a hotel manager, I'll be in charge of overseeing staff members as well as
planning, marketing, coordinating, and managing hotel services like catering and lodging
options. On average, I can make NRs. 145,000 per month. As a hotel manager, I want to run
hotels to the best of my ability so that they can prosper more in this ever growing hotel and
hospitality industry of Nepal.

Incentives to return back

Nepal is visited by tourists from all over the world which gives rise to its hotel, hospitality and
tourism industry. It is one of the best career paths in Nepal as the industry is booming as the
number of visiting tourists increase ever year. By utilizing the skills gained after completion of
my course, I want to incorporate the Australian way of providing service with the Nepalese way.
I believe I will be able to bring some positive changes that would work in the favor of both the
hotel and the customers. These positive changes can work as a snowball effect that transforms
the outlook on the hotel service industry in the best way possible. Ultimately, my country can
develop in a rapid rate.
While talking about my family we are four members i.e., father, mother, uncle and me. My
family is financially strong and will support me financially. I am the only one and most loveable
son of my parents. My Uncle and my father will sponsor for my study and stay in Australia. I do
have a lot of obligations to fulfill in the future back to Nepal. I have to take care of my parents in
their old age and my family assets worth NRs. 6,770,000.00. So, once I gain an intended degree
from Kaplan Business School, Australia, Adelaide I will be back to my home country and will
start to work on a related area for a long-term professional career settlement.
