    POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES: Adjetivos posesivos.


    Cada pronombre personal en inglés, tiene su adjetivo posesivo:

    I - My mi, mis
    You - Your su, sus (de usted)
    He - His su, sus (de él)
    She - Her su, sus (de ella)
    It - Its su, sus (de cosa o animal)
    We - Our nuestro/a/os/as
    You - Your su, sus (de ustedes)
    They - Their su, sus (de ellos, de ellas)

    El adjetivo posesivo precede (va antes) siempre al nombre que modifica.


    Example: My book (mi libro), your bag (su bolso), their Friends (sus amigos).

    El adjetivo posesivo concuerda con el POSEEDOR, y NO con la cosa poseída.


    Examples: (Janeth) her coat, her coats Su abrigo, sus abrigos.
    (John) his hat, his hats Su sombrero, sus sombreros.

    Si digo:
    David está en SU cuarto. Debo utilizar el SU de EL (his) , no el SU de cuarto (its), porque el poseedor
    es David, él es el poseedor del cuarto. Entonces quedaría: DAVID IS IN HIS BEDROOM.

    Si digo: Maria está con su hermano. Debo utilizar el SU de ELLA (o sea de María) y no el SU de
    hermano (his) porque la que posee el hermano es María. Entonces quedaría: MARIA IS WITH HER
    BROTHER.
