EV CHARGING POINTS ON HIGHWAYS

Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS

be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government is implementing/likely to implement any

scheme with regard to set up Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points on
Highways and Expressways on a large scale;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise including Uttar Pradesh; and

(c) whether the Government has awarded any contract to private

agencies for setting up EV charging stations and if so, the details
thereof?

ANSWER

THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS

(SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI)

(a) Yes Sir. Electric Vehicle Charging facilities are included as a part of
Way side Amenities development along National Highways and the
Expressways.

(b) Till date 31 no. of Wayside Amenities (including 05 nos. in the State
of Uttar Pradesh) have operational EV Charging facilities. The State
wise details are given at Annexure-A.

(c ) The Wayside Amenities awarded to private agencies is given at Sl

No 1 to Sl No. 15 of Annexure-A.
