8 Past Perfect Simple / Past Simple
1 Read.
You won’t believe what happened yesterday morning! I woke up late because I had
forgotten to turn on my alarm. By the time I was ready, I had missed the bus and my
parents had already left for work, so I walked to school.
I decided to walk across Farmer Bob’s field because it’s faster. I climbed over the gate,
but before I had reached the other side, I saw a bull. It was looking at me! I think it was
angry because I had come into his field. I didn’t know what to do, so I just ran really fast!
In the end, I got to school early! The bell hadn’t rung yet by the time I arrived!
