sequenced teaching and learning processes to meet curriculum
requirements and varied teaching contexts
Activity
a. The class will be having a game called “What’s in the Box?”. Inside
each box is AN Emoji Patterns.
b. The student will be chosen randomly by use of “WHEEL OF
NAMES”.
c. The randomly chosen student will be asked to choose a box and
guess the title of the movie behind the box. Each student will only be
given 15 seconds. If the chosen student failed to give a correct
answer within 15 seconds, another student will be chosen from the
“WHEEL OF NAMES” and will be given a chance to answer.
d. The procedure of the game will be repeated until the boxes will all be
chosen/answered.
e. The students who can give the correct answer will be given a star
with a corresponding point/s.
f. During the activity, the students will be given a chance to ask
questions for further clarifications.
g. This activity will be done in 5 min

After the review and activity, discussion proper will follow.

B. Establishing a purpose for EXPLAIN

the lesson From the guide questions, the teacher will scaffold the topic Arithmetic
Sequence
A sequence is a set of numbers or figures based on a pattern rule.
Each member of the sequence is called a term.

Illustrative Examples:

C. Presenting
examples/instances of the
new lesson
2.

3.

The illustrative examples will lead in solving the nth term of an

arithmetic sequence.
D. Discussing new concepts EXPLORE
and practicing new skills #1
After defining the sequence and knowing the common difference definition
of Arithmetic Sequence will be shown to the class.

If a sequence has a common difference between each term, then this is

E. Discussing new concepts an arithmetic sequence.
and practicing new skills #2
The formula for the nth term of an arithmetic sequence is
an=a1 + (n-1) d
Example on how to solve the nth term of an arithmetic sequence will be
given to the class.
F. ENGAGE
The student will have an activity called “Let’s Do It Together”. In this
activity the students will have a collaborative learning in solving the nth
term of Arithmetic Sequence.

2. Yeyeng started saving money from her commission for her children’s
tuition fees for the next school year. If she saved P300.00 at the end of the
first week, P450.00 at the end of the second, and so on, increasing her savings
by P150.00 every week, how much will be her savings on the 40th week?

3. A company offers Jeffrey a starting monthly salary of Php15 000 with

raises of Php1,000 per year. What will be his salary on the 10th year?

THERE IS MATH AROUND US (TLE)

Arithmetic sequence can be observed around us. Like the following fare
rate for first 4 kms of a modernized PUJ under General Community
Quarantine released by LTFRB last April 24, 2020.

If we compute the increase of fare for every increase of kilometer

distance, they are all equivalent to 1.50. With this, the fare rate is an example
of an arithmetic sequence.

CORE VALUES/TARGET VALUES (ESP)

Obedience and Respectfulness:

A sequence follows an ‘order’. We, in the same way, follow
orders. In this Covid-19 pandemic, we should follow and obey the

orders imposed by our government for our own good and safety. In
your own simple way, how will you show obedience to the orders
given to us by the higher authorities?

Generalization/Summary:

A sequence is a set of numbers or figures based on a pattern rule. Each

member of the sequence is called a term.

If a sequence has a common difference between each term, then this is an

arithmetic sequence.
