DAILY LESSON Dates and Quarter:
PLAN 7:00 – 8:00 AM (SPJ) 2:20 – 3:20 PM (STE-EINSTEIN) QUARTER
Time: 11:20 AM – 12:20 PM (SPS) 3:40 AM – 4:40 PM (STE-NEWTON)

I.OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of the difference between plant and
animal cells.
B. Performance The learners should be able to employ appropriate techniques using the compound
Standard microscope to gather data about very small objects.
C. Learning Differentiate plant and animal cells according to presence or absence of certain
Competency organelles. S7LT-llc-3.
At the end of the lesson, all learners should be able to:
Objectives  Differentiate plant and animal cells according to presence of certain organelles.
 Locate the specific organelles of plant and animal cells.
 Internalize why the cell is considered the basic structural functional unit of all
organisms.

Resources/Materials
IV.PROCEDURES
ELICIT . Recall previous lesson by "4 pics 1 word" (pictures of different cells, tissues, organs
and systems)
. A set of pictures will be shown and the learners will provide the right word
that captures the essence of the set of pictures

ENGAGE . The class will be divided into small groups and pictures of cell organelles will
shown.

Let each group try to guess what's the picture all about (Picture analysis)
. Guide Questions:
1. What is the basic unit of life?
2. Can you give examples of living cells? Give at least 5 examples…
EXPLORE Comparing plant and animal cells by "Venn Diagram"
. Each group will be given factsheets and photos on the different organelles of plant and animal
cells.
Task:
. The learners will familiarize structure/appearance of each organelle by referring it on the given
factsheets. After which, identify the similarities and
differences in both cells, including the function of each organelle.
EXPLAIN Four (4) groups will be asked to present their outputs to the class.
.Guide Questions:
1. What structures/organelles are found only in plant cells?
2. What organelles are present only in animal cells?
3. What organelles can be found in both cells?
4. Why the cell is considered the basic structural and functional unit of all
organisms?
. The learners should be able to explain the function of each organelle in plant
and animal cells that have found on the activity.
ELABORATE The learners will be asked to locate the different organelles on plant and
animal cells.
EVALUATE The learners will be given enough time to illustrate and label the plant cell and
animal cell using a localized food products like colored
jelly, biscuit and other food products available.
EXTEND While the learners illustrating the organelles. They will then give a brief description
on each organelle based on their understanding.
V.REMARKS
VI.REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who
earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who
require additional
activities for
remediation
C. Did the remedial work?
No. of learners who
have caught up with
the lesson
D. No. of learners who
continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching
strategies worked well?
Why did this work?
F. What difficulties did I
encounter which my
principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
G. What innovation or
localized materials did
you used /discover
which I wish to share
with other teachers?
