Team Name: Girls Generation

"Girls Generation" is more than simply the name of our team; it's a potent symbol of our
commitment to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. It embodies the concept
that, by collaborating across generations, we may create a future in which women are equally
represented in society as participants, leaders, and contributors.

Team Advocacy: EmpowHER: Women Leadership Empowerment

This advocacy revolves around empowering women because we can be more than what society
thinks. We should break the stereotype about what women should become as they are more
capable of what the people want them to be. Let women live without prejudice and
discrimination but a life that lets them spread their wings and fly high to achieve their tomorrow.
Dahil kami ay babae, hindi babae lang.

Team Tagline: “Unleash YOUR Power”

Yielding equality Overcoming barriers Unleashing potentials Reshaping norms

Our team's "Unleash YOUR Power" tagline captures a more profound message we wish to relay
with our advocacy. As you can see, “YOUR” means yielding equality, overcoming barriers,
unleashing potential, and reshaping norms. In addition, we used the pronoun “your” as it is
gender-neutral. This shows that through our campaign, we hope to foster and promote these ideas
for everyone, no matter what their gender, age, or race is. We aim to instill hope in individuals
experiencing gender-based injustice, fight for rights and opportunity for all, and ensure that each
gender is fairly represented in our society. To address gender inequality and build a better future
for generations, we want to motivate people to take action and discover their true potential.

5 Reasons to validate the choice of SDG-based Advocacy

1. Women, to this day, are still seen as inferior to men. Some people still see women as
weak, powerless, not capable of doing men’s work, or simply not as good as they think.
Through this advocacy, we can showcase women's potential and how they are not inferior
to anyone.
2. The double standards of society when it comes to women. If a man does something,
they quickly get away with it, especially when they got the ‘looks.’ But when a woman
does something, they’ll see it as just wanting attention. This is very common in the KPOP
community as fans try to justify a man’s actions because he is handsome, but they tend to
drag them down when it comes to women.
3. To stop the objectification of people towards women. Women are typically seen as the
ones who should do all the cleaning, cooking, or any household chores. They are also
often seen as a toy by men who think highly of themselves and treat women as their
slaves.
4. To boost women’s confidence and rights. Because of the discrimination and violence
women experience, most of them are getting scared to speak up and lose their self-worth.
This would be a chance for us to boost them and make them feel that no one has the right
to take away their dignity.
5. To speak out the power of a woman’s voice. Women deserve to be heard. Speaking up
doesn’t mean complaining, but correcting what they see is wrong. The power of a
woman’s voice is much more significant and louder than what society thinks.

2
5 Justifications for the Specified Target Audience - General Public

1. Some women have no empowerment towards fellow women. It is also happening these
days that women are the ones who put other women down. For example, commenting
negatively about their body, looks, professions, etc. This advocacy promotes a sisterhood
with peace and harmony, where everyone lifts each other.
2. Changing societal norms and culture is an essential aspect of achieving gender
equality. Advocacy targeted at the general public can challenge and reshape traditional
beliefs to foster a more inclusive society.
3. The General Public often lacks in-depth knowledge about the importance of
women’s leadership. Targeting them allows for widespread education, raising awareness
about the issues and potential solutions.
4. Utilization to eradicate prejudices and discrimination that have hampered women
for too long by drawing attention to the challenges they face and the importance of
their empowerment. As a result, this could move us one step closer to a future where
everyone is treated fairly and impartially.
5. For society to treat women the way they deserve to be treated. Having equal rights is
a fundamental human right, so equal rights, opportunities, and freedom should be given
equally to both men and women.

Major Event Project:

Nature of Activity

a. Title: EmpowHER: Leadership Empowerment Program

b. Target Audience: General Public
c. Objectives
- Raise Awareness: To promote gender equality, the fundamental goal of any advocacy
event should be to increase awareness. The best way to accomplish this is through
various methods, including panel discussions, presentations, and workshops. These
events should highlight the challenges, issues, and benefits of achieving gender equality.
- Encourage Implementation: The event aims to encourage participants to get involved in
the community and their personal lives by becoming advocates for gender equality. This
can be accomplished by giving inspiring speeches, sharing success stories, and offering
tools and details on how people can get involved and change the world.
- The participants are highly encouraged to participate in different events and campaigns
that support gender equality after joining the event. The event aims to inspire the
participants to become advocates and be more inclined to support these events promoting
and supporting gender equality.

3
- Engage Men and Boys: Including boys and men as allies is essential to winning the
battle for gender equality and developing workshops, especially for boys and men, that
encourage discussion, awareness-raising, and action to combat damaging gender
stereotypes and advance positive masculinity.
- Address Issues: Address issues such as gender-based violence and work towards
creating a safe and supportive environment for women and girls. To overcome prejudices
and promote more inclusive narratives, support varied and genuine gender representation
in entertainment and media.

d. Location
Rizal Park
- Why Rizal Park?
Rizal Park is convenient, centrally located, and easily accessible to people from
various parts of Manila. It provides a spacious and welcoming environment for
events, discussions, and activities related to girl empowerment. The historical
connection also adds depth to the advocacy, as the park is named after Dr. Jose
Rizal, a national hero who supported equality and social reforms.

c. Operational Plan

Planning and developing the campaign

This advocacy, entitled EmpowHER, is an SDG 5-based advocacy that promotes
women's leadership. This is planned for about four months before International Women’s Day,
which will also be the day this advocacy will be conducted. The location of this event will take
place in Rizal Park and is open to the public, free of charge. The team gathered data about what
will be needed to conduct this campaign and what we want to include and achieve.
In planning, we have agreed to set up the following for the advocacy campaign.
● Booths
● Food stalls
● Art installations
● Live performers
● Guest speakers

Preparation, gathering all needed materials

The team will begin to prepare and gather all the needed equipment and facilities ahead
of the event. All the required materials for the props and decorations of the venue will be
collected, listed, and made, as well as their estimated cost. The guest speakers, musicians, and
other people needed for this campaign will also be contacted by our team.

Besides the guest speakers and musicians, the booths, food stalls, and art installations will
also be prepared during this period. Our team will also contact trusted businesses or people for
the said facilities. The team will ensure that all these facilities are ready to serve the public on the
event day.

Production, putting everything together

The production period is about 1-2 days before the event. The team will start setting up
and preparing the venue, beginning with the props and decorations. The lights and sounds,
chairs, other equipment, and facilities like booths, stalls, and installations will also be set up
during this period. This is necessary to evaluate if things need improvement or if there needs to
be more materials.

Presentation, the actual campaign

On the actual day of the event, everything that the team prepared, from minor to big
things, will now be put into use. The booths, performers, installations, and food stalls, as the
main event, will now be enjoyed by the public. We expect everything to go smoothly as
everything has been prepared for an extended period.
