The author of the book “It Ends With Us” is Colleen Hoover.

This is the novel “It Ends With Us” written by Colleen Hoover, an American author

renowned for her works in the contemporary and adult romance genres. She published her

in year of 2016 ,end the book delves into intricate themes such as love, resilience, and self

-discovery.

Colleen Hoover, born on December 11, 1979, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, U.S., emerged

as a publishing phenomenon in the early 21st century. Known for forgoing traditional

marketing methods, she self-published many of her books, gaining widespread popularity

through social media. Her novels are celebrated for their compelling blend of romance and

dramatic plot twists.

The story follows Lily Bloom, a young woman who has overcome a challenging past. As

she

builds a new life in Boston, Lily finds herself torn between two very different men: Ryle

Kincaid, a successful neurosurgeon, and Atlas Corrigan, her first love who reappears

unexpectedly. The novel delves into Lily’s struggles and the complexities of her

relationships. It addresses sensitive issues such as domestic violence and the impact it has

on individuals. Throughout the narrative, readers witness Lily’s journey of self-discovery

and the difficult choices she must make to protect herself and those she cares about.

The "It Ends With Us” is known for its emotional depth, thought-provoking themes, and

unexpected twists. Colleen Hoover skillfully weaves a story that resonates with readers,

prompting reflection on the intricacies of love and the strength needed to break free from

the cycle of the pass and the pain of Lily Bloom.

It Ends With Us” by Colleen Hoover falls within the contemporary romance genre.

The Characters in the story are; Lily Bloom, Ryle Kincaid, Atlas Corrigan, Andrew bloom,

father of lily, and Jenny bloom mother of lily.

I’d like to introduce the plot of “It End With Us”, there’s this girl named Lily Bloom and

she wants to open a flower shop in their town, she grow up with a father who was abusive

and she runs into this guy named Ryle, the day of her father’s funeral. In a other day Lily

notices that there’s this boy living in the abandoned house across from her house and his

name is Atlas, the relationship between Lily and Atlas are so pure and very wholesome

and when Lily and Ryle met each other this guy wants something happened to both of

them, Ryle’s dark side has came out, the worsting is he start abusing Lily just like her

father did to her mother then Lily make’s decision about difficult situation with Ryle, who

becomes physically violent towards her. Despite her deep feelings for him, Lily recognizes

the importance of prioritizing her own well-being and safety. In a brave and empowering

moment, she decides to leave the relationship to protect herself and break the cycle of

abuse.

She start creating letter to Ellen Lee DeGeneres an American comedian, television host

the reason why Lily Bloom gives letters to her deceased mother, Ellen, as a way to process

her emotions and seek guidance. These letters serve as a form of therapy for Lily, allowing

her to express her thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Ellen was also a survivor of

domestic abuse, and Lily discovers her mother’s journals containing letters written to Lily.

Ellen’s letters become a source of wisdom and insight for Lily as she navigates her own

relationship with Ryle Kincaid, who have a abusive behavior. By writing letters to her

mother, Lily engages in a form of self-reflection and conversation with the memory of

Ellen. It becomes a means for Lily to connect with her mother’s experiences, understand

the challenges she faced, and find strength in her own journey, for me this is the biggest

plot that I read in this book, although I haven’t finished reading the whole story yet.

Colleen Hoover explores several themes throughout the narrative. It mention the

central theme in the novel is the exploration of domestic abuse, Self-Discovery and

empowerment, the love and Complicated Relationship, Courage and Decision-Making in

life, and then the Individual Resilience, and for the lastly is Mother-Daughter

Relationships.
These themes collectively contribute to the emotional depth and thought-

provoking nature of “It Ends With Us,” making it a novel that goes beyond traditional

romance narratives and delves into complex, real-life issues.

For me, the impact of this story is too sensitive to read because many bad behaviors and

family problems are shown here, especially women experience it in their real life, it has a

big impact on me to better avoid and increased awareness of domestic abuse, the novel sheds

light on the dynamics of domestic abuse, and its portrayal has increased awareness among me and the

other reader about the realities and complexities of abusive relationships. And the empowerment and

strength for women that has inspired a sense of strength and determination in facing challenges and

making difficult decisions to prioritize one’s well-being.

If I were to recommend this book, my answer would be a definite yes. The depth of the story sets it

apart from other books initially it may not be an easy read because the narrative reflects the harsh

realities of life. To be honest, it might not be suitable for my age; it seems more suit towards adults or

those above their twenties due to have a sensitive content involving various forms of relationship abuse,

the story not only addresses issues that pertain to women but also delves into family problems that can

result in divorces due to spousal abuse. While it might not have been the most suitable choice for me,

my curiosity about deeper, more mature stories led me to read it. The chapters are quite sensitive,

offering vivid portrayals that can be intense to imagine.

Despite the challenging nature of the content, I find this book commendable because it imparts

valuable lessons, especially when it comes to entering relationships and steering clear of toxic

situations. I believe it’s worth recommending to others as it provides a glimpse into the harsh realities of

life and serves as a guide on navigating relationships in a healthier way.
