ISTE Technology Standard Addressed: What would you like students to know and
be able to do by the end of this lesson:
Creative Communicator- Element 1.6.d The students will use a Sway to

and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.
I can introduce this lesson by create a Sway to describe the assignment in a fun and engaging
way. The activity will allow the students to create their own Swap by using pictures they
make and uploading them to create a Story Recap. After they completed the assignment they
will present to the class, and the class will use the Recaps to come up with an overall theme. I
will conclude the lesson by discussing the theme and allow students to share how they
decided on an overall theme.
Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology:
This will be a week-long project that the students will complete over that time. Allowing
students to choose from a variety of topic in term of class led book. This technology will not
only allow a space for creativity but also a resource to share with their classmate to further
their learning in the text. I will manage classroom behavior by using the method “ask three
then me” to incorporate classroom collaboration and communication.
There is a lot of creativity within this project, allowing for students to recap the text in the
way they want to. The students who will take their time with the projects will be able to work
slowly and asked questions within the week time frame. Those complete the assignment
early will have the opportunity to create a video to further educate the class with the recap
of the text. This tool supports the representation components as it represents a text, and it
will have the engagement component through the class presentations.
I think this activity will impact student learning through the creativity component of the
assignment, allows an educated space to share how they interrupted a text. The part of the

lesson I look forward to is the students presenting them within the classroom and the
student working together to come up with an overall theme.
