MSDS Il023c 2023
PRECAUTIONARY INFORMATION
Product not expected to create any hazard when handled or processed in accordance with
good manufacturing and industrial hygiene practices.
At processing temperatures, vinyl compounds may emit fumes and vapors that are irritating to
the respiratory tract, eyes or skin of some sensitive individuals.
Skin
No adverse effects anticipated under normal conditions. Flush with water to remove material
from skin. Obtain medical attention if irritation is present and persist.

SAFETY DATA SHEET 2 of 6
VINYL PELLET COMPOUND
Grade No.: IL023C
Date : 20-Mar-2023
Rev : 01
Inhalation
No adverse effect anticipated under normal conditions if adequately ventilated. If exposure occur,
remove the exposure individual to fresh air. Obtain immediately medical attention if irritation
persist.
Ingestion
Do not induce vomit. Seek medical attention.
Flash ignition and self ignition temperatures vary somewhat with the composition but should not
be lower than the following:
0
Flash ignition temp. about 300 C
0
Self ignition temp. about 410 C
Extinguishing Media
Water is most effective. ABC dry chemical, AFFF and protein type air foams are also effective.
Combustion Products
When forced to burn, primary combustion gases will be hydrogen chloride, carbon monoxide,
carbon dioxide and aliphatic olefins. Traces of benzene, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons
may be presented. Hydrogen chloride has a corrosive effect on many metals and appropriate
measures should be taken if exposure occurs.
Protect Environment
Contain material to prevent contamination of the soil, surface water or ground water.
Clean Up
Clean up uncontaminated material and recycle into process. Sweep or vacuum .
Wash thoroughly after handling. PVC resin processing may result in the release of low levels of
vinyl chloride monomer. Use only in well-ventilated areas.
Storage
Store in a cool, well ventilated dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and incompatible
material. Store away from food and beverages. Keep container closed to prevent contamination.
Avoid contact with acetal, acetal copolymers and amines all of which will cause rapid
degradation of vinyl compounds.
Respiratory Protection
For most conditions,no respiratory protection should be needed. However, if dust is produced
during handling air purifying filter respirator should be used.

Exposure Guidelines
No exposure limits have been established for PVC. It is recommended that exposure be kept
below the limits for Particulate not otherwise classified according to the Centre for Disease
Control and Prevention:
STABILITY
Stable under normal conditions.
POLIMERIZATION
Hazardous polymerization does not occur.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID
Instantaneous temperatures above 240⁰C. Prolonged heating combined with shear during
processing can generate hazardous decomposition products. Overheating may cause thermal
degradation of PVC compound.
Fumes and vapor (Hydrogen chloride, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, aliphatic olefins) may
be produced as result of thermal degradation. These emissions are possible to occur during
normal operating condition and may accumulate if ventilation is insufficient.
INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS
Do not allow this product to contact acetal or acetal copolymer within the processing machine. At
processing conditions the two materials are mutually destructive.
No adverse health effects expected if the product is handled in accordance with this Safety Data
Sheet and the product label. Symptoms or effects that may arise if the product is mishandled and
overexposure occurs are:
Ingestion
Swallowing can result in nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain.
Eye Contact
May be an eye irritant. Exposure to the dust may cause discomfort due to particulate nature. It
may cause physical irritation to the eyes.
Skin Contact
Contact with skin may result in irritation. Contact with molten material may cause skin burns.
Inhalation
Toxicological Data
No LD50 data available for the product. All components are fully encapsulated within the polymer
and should present no hazard under conditions of good occupational work practice.
The material on this MSDS is designed for industrial purpose only. PT. Riken Indonesia should
not have any responsibility and guarantee for use in different purposes, such as toys food
contact films, and other than industrial design,
This product should be stored, handled, and used in accordance with good industrial hygiene
practices and in conformity with any legal regulation. Safe handling and use remain the
responsibility of the customer.
Normal melt Processing: Virtually all thermoplastic material will emit fumes and /or vapors when
heated to processing temperatures. The concentration of these emissions in the work-place air
will depend upon variables such as the specific compound formulations, amount processed,
processing method and temperature and the effectiveness of exhaust ventilation.
