THE PRISONER OF ZENDA(CHAPTER14-22)

Question/Answers
Q1- -How did Rudolf Rassendyll make a reconnaissance to the castle of
Zenda in order to view the plan of attack.
ANS-Rudolf Rassendyll went to the Castle of Zenda at night with Colonel
Sapt, Fritz, and other gentlemen. He crossed the moat by himself and
found the pipe Johann had mentioned. There, he encountered Max Holf,
Johann's brother, who was guarding the area. Rassendyll fought and killed
him. Later, a battle broke out between Rassendyll group and Black
Michael's men, resulting in the deaths of Krafstein and Lauengram.
Q2-How and by whom is duke Michael murdered?
ANS- When Rupert goes into the room of Madam Mauban to harm her,
she shouts for help to Michael. He comes out to rescue her, fights with
Rupert, and unfortunately, Michael is murdered by Rupert. Rupert is a
strong man; he killed his master because he loves Madam Mauban and
wants to marry her. He jumps into the moat when Mauban tries to fire two
shots toward him, but he manages to escape.
Q3- In what was does Rudolf Rassendyll get the keys of the king’s cell.
ANS- Rassendyll prepared a very good plan to rescue the king. After the
death of Duke Michael, he rushed to the king's cellar. He stood by the wall
when suddenly someone leapt through the window. Rassendyll shot this
man, and he was identified as De Gautet. Rassendyll searched his pockets
and found the keys to the king's cellar. In this way, the king's party
succeeded in rescuing the king.

Q4- What do you know about the last fight between Rudolf Rassendyll and
Detchard?
ANS- The last fight took place between Rudolf Rassendyll and Black
Michael's man, Detchard. He was the last man of Michael to resist
Rassendyll from rescuing the king. Detchard rushed to the king's cellar to
kill him as it was Michael's order. However, a doctor came in his way.
Detchard first killed the doctor, then tried to attack the king. He partially
succeeded and hit his sword to the king's forehead, but Rassendyll
intervened, preventing the king from being killed. Though wounded, the
king fell down, and Rassendyll managed to save him by defeating
Detchard. Rassendyll did a great job in rescuing the king and eliminating
Detchard.
Q5- What do you say regarding Fritz remark “Heaven does not always
choose right men king? Or the character of Rudolf Elpgberg reflects that
“heaven does not always choose right men as king”. Comments on Fritz ‘s
remark.
ANS- The remark passed by Fritz, a very sincere man of the king, is fully
justified, as King Elphberg appears to be a careless, irresponsible, and
minor character. He doesn't seem to care about his coronation ceremony
and tends to drink excessively. It was well said that excess of everything is
bad, and as a result, the king suffers from many weaknesses. His behavior
as a person further cast a shadow on his personality. He needs reformation
and a rebuilding of his character. Considering all these points, one can
agree that heaven does not always choose the right person as king. It's
also possible to entertain the idea that sometimes heaven gives a chance
to such a person to correct their path after experiencing a lot of suffering.
