    The truths of Vaccines

    Covid-19 has impacted lives all over the world. The health crisis presented itself as a
    concern during the early half of 2020, starting out with the image of a seemingly harmless
    and ‘easy’ virus to deal with. This however was truly just a façade, an image, what lie in the
    next few months was an outcome and a reality no one in the 21st century would have ever
    guessed. And it took the world by storm, claiming lives, infecting communities, and altering
    history as we know it. And with that, comes a lot of information about the said disease, we
    hear this from our governments and all over different media; to wear masks, to social
    distance, to isolate, and now, to get vaccinated. The only chance of what used to be our
    ‘normal’ world is a world reliant on these vaccines, and Dr. John Wong debunks theories
    and myths, as well as address some assumptions and concerns that we may have about it
    in Ask theory’s Podcast episode, “Safe Ba Talagang Magpabakuna Kontra-COVID-19?”
    here were 2 of the points that were discussed:

    Dr. john Wong discussed how all vaccines in the market are a hundred percent
    effective, he mentioned how the safest way to keep ourselves protected if we are getting the
    vaccine, is to get any vaccine that is most accessible to us. This is a major point as there
    has been a pretty controversial debate about the efficacy of some vaccines in the market,
    this at least gives us the peace of mind that the vaccines out in the market are effective
    regardless of brand.

    So what about the idea that these vaccines were rushed? Well, Dr. Wong also
    discusses how scientists and researchers were able to develop a vaccine in a reasonable
    and short amount of time, He explained that the virus that’s hitting the world at the moment
    is not an unknown virus at all, but that SARS-Cov-2 was actually similar to SARS-Cov-1, a
    virus that was first detected almost 20 years ago and has been studied ever since, So in
    truth, many studies have actually been done about this virus, and that the medical field has
    actually had a foundation of data over the years. So developers of the vaccine actually
    relied on these past researches and studies in order to develop the vaccines. They also
    followed all the protocols which involved 3 different phases of testing and approval before
    being distributed all throughout the world. So we can be sure that vaccines are definitely not
    rushed, and are definitely effective in providing us with another source of protection and
    immunity to fight off the disease.
