1. Mahatma Gandhi
- Born Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar Gujarat,
India. Gandhi was born into a Hindu family, and his father served as the Diwan
(Prime minister) of Porbandar.
- He studied law in London and passed the bar in 1981.
- Gandhi initially went to South Africa to work as a lawyer. It was there that he first
experienced racial discrimination, leading him to engage in social and political
activism. He developed his philosophy of nonviolent resistance known as
“Satyagraha”, during this time.
- Gandhi returned to India in 1915 and became actively involved in the Indian
dependence movement. He advocated for nonviolent civil disobedience to achieve
political and social change.
- Gandhi led various campaigns of nonviolent resistance against British colonial rule,
such as the Salt March in 1930, which protested the British monopoly on salt and
sparked widespread civil disobedience.
- He played a crucial role in negotiating with the British for India’s independence
which was achieved in 1947.
- Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on January 30, 1948, by a Hindu nationalist who
opposed his views on tolerance and religious harmony.
- Gandhi’s legacy endures globally as a symbol of peace, nonviolence, and human
rights. His birthday, October 2 is celebrated as the International Day of Non-violence.

- Born Stanley Martin Lieber on December 28, 1922, in New York City.
- He was an American comic book writer, editor, and publisher. He is best known for
co – creating some of the most iconic superheroes in the Marvel Comics universe in
1939.
- Lee’s career in comics took off, and became the Editor – in – Chief of Timely Comics
in the early 1940s.
- During the 1960s, he along with other artist created some of marvels most famous
superheroes, including Spider – Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black
Widow, and the Fantastic Four which people support and love till this day.
- He played a crucial role in bringing a new level of complexity to storytelling. His
characters were known for their relatable flaws and human qualities making them
more complex and realistic.
- Under his Leadership, Marvel Comics became a major force in the comic book
industry. His approach to storytelling and character development contributed to
Marvel’s success in creating a shared universe with interconnected characters and
storylines.
- Stan Lee’s contributions to the industry and pop culture are immeasurable. His
characters and innovations have had a lasting impact, influencing generations of
writes, artist, and fans.
- He received numerous awards for his work including the National Medal of Arts in
2008
- Stan Lee passed away on November 12, 2018, at the age of 95, leaving behind a

- Born Walter Elias Disney on December 5, 1901, in Hermosa, Illinois, USA. He grew
up in Marceline Missouri and later moved to Kansas City. He developed a passion for
drawing and animation from a young age.
- In 1923, Walt Disney and his brother Roy O. Disney co-founded the Disney
Brothers Studio, which later became The Walt Disney Company.
- In 1928, Walt Disney introduced the character Mickey Mouse in the animated short
film "Steamboat Willie." Mickey Mouse became a cultural icon and the mascot of
Disney
- Disney diversified into various entertainment fields, including theme parks.
Disneyland, the first-ever theme park, opened in Anaheim, California, in 1955
which may people enjoy till this day.
- Walt Disney passed away on December 15, 1966, from lung cancer.
- Walt Disney's legacy is immense, and The Walt Disney Company has grown

 Santiago was elected as a senator in 1995, where she gained recognition for
her fearless and eloquent speeches. Santiago began her political career in the
Philippines, holding various government positions.
- She made three unsuccessful bids for the presidency in 1992, 1998, and 2016
- Santiago was the first Asian from a developing country to be elected as a
judge of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands, in
2011.
- She was known for her advocacy against corruption and for her commitment
to human rights.
- Santiago battled health issues, particularly lung cancer, while remaining active

before studying law and becoming a successful lawyer.
 Lincoln entered politics in the 1830s and served in the Illinois State Legislature.
