Jollibee Style Spaghetti

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

If you’re a kid who grew up in the

Philippines, you’ve probably had
Jollibee spaghetti at least once in
your life. One of their most popular
menu offerings, Jollibee spaghetti is a
staple at nearly every birthday party
for both kids and kids at heart. Its
unique sweetness sets it apart from
original spaghetti recipes, making it a
delightful and refreshing treat!

The jolly and classically Pinoy fast

food restaurant has been around
since the late 1970s. Its crispy and
tender Chickenjoy, as well as its
meaty Yumburger are some other fan
favorites. But it’s the Jollibee Spaghetti
they advertise as the meatiest,
cheesiest spaghetti in the country ––
and quite frankly, they might be right!

What is in Jollibee
Spaghetti?
An original spaghetti recipe is a
balance between tart and sweet,
though it leans more towards the
former. Spaghetti Bolognese, for one,
is thick and rich, with the tomato
flavor neither too strong or
overbearing. In fact, bolognese tends
to lean into a creamier flavor, as
many add a splash of cream or milk
at the end for that extra oomph.

Jollibee Spaghetti, meanwhile, leans

into more Pinoy sensibilities. Since we
know that Filipinos have a sweet tooth,
this recipe incorporates quite the
amount of sugar into its taste. Many
of the ingredients we put in this kind
of spaghetti are inexpensive and
easy. Our tomato sauce and tomato
paste are naturally sweet as well,
which give us that vibrant and bright
flavor we’re looking for. Not to mention
the use of ground pork and hotdogs
makes it exceptionally filling!

To top it off, you can’t forget one of

the most important elements in a
delightful Jollibee spaghetti –– the
cheese! The cheesiness is, quite
arguably, one of the key things that
makes it a Jollibee spaghetti in the
first place. For this recipe I like to use
Velveeta cheese, which is an
affordable and easily accessible find
at any grocery store. Soft and smooth,
this type of cheese really melts in your
mouth, contributing to the delightful
spaghetti flavors.

If you want to incorporate the full

Jollibee experience into your home,
you can also serve your spaghetti
alongside crispy fried chicken! Not
only is it a great contrast to the
flavors of your spaghetti, but its
tender but juicy taste is truly
addictive. Making these recipes from
home proves that you don’t need to
wait for a special day to enjoy
delicious food.

How to Make Jollibee

Spaghetti
While this dish might be easy to make,
Jollibee spaghetti actually takes quite
a while –– about an hour and ten
minutes, to be exact. Most of this time
is dedicated to making sure your
sauce is as delicious as it can be. By
letting your sauce simmer for about
an hour, you’re able to extract all its
savory and yummy flavors. The wait
for your own Jollibee spaghetti will
surely be worth it!

The first step to making your Jollibee

spaghetti is to cook your spaghetti
noodles according to package
instructions. You’ll be using 2 lbs of
noodles, or approximately 1 kilogram;
this should be enough for a family
serving. Afterwards, drain the water
from your noodles and set it aside.

Next, let’s start to focus on your meaty

sauce! In one cooking pot, pour in 2
tablespoons of cooking oil. Add in 2
teaspoons of minced garlic and your
minced yellow onion as well, and
sauté. When your onions soften
slightly, add in 1 lb. of minced ham,
and let this combo cook. After about 3
minutes, put in 1 ½ lb. of ground pork
and do the same. You can even let
the ground pork cook for about 5
minutes.

Then, pour in 3 15 ounce cans of

tomato sauce and 2 cups of beef
broth. Stir these ingredients for the
saucesauce together. Then, let it
simmer for about an hour. This will
give it time to marry the flavors
together harmoniously.

When an hour is up, add in your

hotdogs and half a cup of tomato
paste! You’ll only need about 6 to 8
hotdogs for this recipe; make sure,
though, to slice them diagonally
before adding them to the pot. Stir the
sauce for about 10 minutes, letting
your sauce thicken with time. Then,
add in your granulated white sugar,
and salt and pepper to taste. Mix the
last of your ingredients well!

Once ready, put your noodles in a

large serving bowl, or on individual
plates. Pour your sauce on top of the
pasta, making sure to coat every
portion of it you can see. Last but
definitely not least, add your Velveeta
cheese on top!

It is ready! Serve it with a side of garlic

bread for maximum enjoyment, too.

Enjoy your Jollibee spaghetti with your

loved ones, and let us know what you
think of this wonderful dish.
