EASTER TRADITIONS AT THE WHITE HOUSE


Celebrating Easter is one of the oldest time-honored traditions at
the White House. Since 1878, American presidents and their families
have celebrated Easter Monday by hosting an ‘egg roll’ party. Held on
the South Lawn, it is one of the oldest annual events in White House
history. It has changed and evolved through the years and each First
Family has put their stamp on the popular event.

– for nearly 50 years – have proudly presented an intricately decorated

Commemorative Easter Egg to the First Lady of the United States. In 2021,
the White House expanded on this longstanding tradition by displaying
youth-designed Easter eggs in the White House East Colonnade.

National Guard are asking youth from National Guard families across
the United States and all U.S. territories to submit artwork inspired by
the theme ‘Celebrating our Military Families’.

Terms & Conditions

Submission Guidelines and Restrictions: By entering, each entrant agrees that the child’s Submission conforms to
the Submission Guidelines and Restrictions as defined below (collectively, the “Guidelines and Restrictions”) and that
Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may remove any Submission and disqualify an entrant if it believes, in its sole
discretion, that the entrant’s Submission fails to conform to the Guidelines and Restrictions.

Submission Guidelines:
The Design Statement must not exceed 50 words in length. The Submission must be primarily in English.

Restrictions:
The Submission must not contain material that violates or infringes any rights of any other party, including but not
limited to copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or any other intellectual property rights;

• The Submission must not in any way disparage Sponsor or any other person or party;
• The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene hateful, tortious,
defamatory, slanderous or libelous;
• The Submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any
group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual
orientation or age;
• The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or
regulations of the United States or of any jurisdiction where Submission is created.
• The Submission must not promote illegal drugs or firearms (or the use of any of the foregoing), or any
activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous;
• The Submission must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or
partisan political statements; and
• The Submission must be consistent with the image and values of Sponsor and be consistent with and
satisfy the purpose of the submission.

Conditions:
Selected names, ages, home states/territories and Submissions will be included as part of the Exhibit. By
participating, on behalf of yourself and your child, you grant Sponsor a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, non-
exclusive license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, publish, create derivative works from, and to display your
child’s name, age, home states/territories and Submission, in whole or in part, including, but not limited, in
connection with and for purposes of the Artist’s Egg Creation and the Exhibit, and to incorporate them into other
works, in any form, media or technology now known or later developed, including but not limited to, on any and all
Internet media, including Sponsor’s web sites and properties and on social networking sites (i.e., Facebook, YouTube,
Twitter, Instagram, TikTok etc.), for any legal purpose whatsoever.

By submitting artwork, you warrant on behalf of yourself and your child the following with respect to the
Submission: (a) entrant is the sole and exclusive owner of the Submission; and (b) the Submission will not
infringe on any rights of any third parties.

All entrants must have a valid email address. No automated entry devices and/or programs permitted. All entries,
including Submissions, become the sole and exclusive property of the Sponsor and receipt of entries will not be
acknowledged or returned. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, stolen, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible,
misdirected, technically corrupted or garbled entries, which will be disqualified, or for problems of any kind whether
mechanical, human or electronic. Only fully completed Submission forms are eligible. Proof of submission will not be
deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor.

Use of Data:
Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants online, in accordance with its privacy policy. Please review
the Sponsor’s privacy policy at https://www.incredibleegg.org/privacy-policy. By participating in the Contest, entrants
hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information (as well as their child’s personal
information) and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s privacy policy.
