1. Define empowerment and discuss why it is important for a leader.

Empowerment is the degree of autonomy and self-determination in people and in

communities. This enables them to represent their interests in a responsible and self-
determined way, acting on their own authority. It is the process of becoming stronger
and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights.

Empowerment is crucial for leaders because it raises employee satisfaction, which

boosts productivity. People are inspired to produce their best work when they feel
empowered and respected. Additionally, empowered workers are more likely to stick
with the organization. They feel invested in the company and its success, therefore
they are less likely to leave for another employment.

fairness, and a strong commitment to moral principles.

In summary, unethical leadership is characterized by a lack of integrity, abusive

behavior, lack of transparency, short-term focus, and negative impacts on culture and
reputation. Ethical leadership, on the other hand, embodies integrity, respect,
transparency, a long-term perspective, and positive organizational culture. Ethical

or let them make decisions. Once the decision has been made, they impose it and
expect obedience.

Democratic leaders take an active role in the decision-making process, but they

4. Discuss the different between Management and Leadership

The role of management is to control a group or group of individuals to achieve a

specified objective. Leadership is the ability of an individual to influence, motivate,
and enable others to contribute to the organization's success.

Management is responsible for controlling an organization, a group, or a set of entities

to achieve a particular objective. Managing is about making sure the day-to-day
operations are being performed as expected. A leader communicates to set direction,
inspire, and motivate their team.

Leadership requires a vision to guide change. Whereas managers focus on achieving

organizational goals through process implementation, such as budgeting,
organizational structure, and staffing, leaders are more concerned with thinking ahead
and seizing opportunities.
