Subject Description:
Physical Education and Health offers experiential
learning for learners to adopt an active life for
fitness and lifelong health. The knowledge, skills
and understanding which include physical and
health literacy competencies support them in
accessing, synthesizing and evaluating
information; making informed decisions;
enhancing and advocating their own as well as
others’ fitness and health.

◦The target is to develop knowledge and
understanding of the nature of sports.
◦Sports, an activity requiring physical action and
skills, it can be classified as individual, dual, or
team sports.
Subject Description:
In any sports, players foster a higher amount of
discipline, self-confidence, focus and passion. It
is necessary to learn the basics of each sport in
order to properly play the game.
Nonetheless, understanding how the game is
played is most essential. In whichever, the
benefits and safety of participating in physical
activity is the most significant.
Content Standard:
The learners demonstrate understanding of
sports in optimizing one’s health as a habit; as
requisite for physical activity assessment
performance, and as a career opportunity to
promote the overall progress and wellbeing by
playing sports.
Objective:
Distinguish the nature of the different sports
activities to promote a healthy lifestyle.

SPORTS
Sports is an activity that requires physical actions
and skills where individuals or teams compete under
a set of rules. It is classified into individual, dual, or
team sports. Individual sports are played by one
participant on each side; dual sports are played by
two competing pairs, while team sports are played
with the three or more players.
SPORTS refers to any type of organized physical
activity, e.g. soccer, rugby, football, basketball and
athletics.
Types of Sports
➢Individual sports are played by one participant on
each side.
➢Dual sports are played by two competing pairs.
➢Team Sports are played with three or more players.
In team sports, many variables are considered to
determine the success or failure of the team. A team’s
performance or success depends on the collective
effort of all its players.

1. Stay conditioned keeping your body in healthy and in good
condition helps to ensure that muscles stay strengthened that
are used during play.
2. Don’t forget to hydrate drinking water regularly before and
after of exercise. Because the more active you are the more
fluids you should be drink putting back to your body.
3. Make time for rest athletes should be take one to two days
off during the week to rest. This is very essential and will help
to prevent overuse of muscles.

4. Warm up and stretch set aside time before every practice to stretch.
Stretching is important before ant activity because it releases muscle
tension. Regular stretching not only help to warm up your muscles but it
also increases flexibility.
5. Use recommended safety equipment wearing proper equipment will
not guarantee that no injuries will occur but it lower the chances. Keep
the neck, shoulder, elbow, chest, and knee and shin areas protected by
wearing proper gear.
6. Play safe Rules and regulation are set in place for a reason its help
to prevent injuries.
