Anticipatory Set-

 The facilitator will ask the learners a few basic questions to introduce
the topic

 What are the common pains and sufferings, old people undergo?
 What sort of relationship do a mother and a daughter have?

 The students will be able to understand the theme of the poem-

Activity 1 : The facilitator will initiate/draw the student’s attention to the topic by asking questions

The students will write a paragraph on ‘ Mother-Daughter Relationship’.

Summarize and check for understanding

Rapid fire questions will be asked to check the comprehension skills of the students and doubts
cleared.

Day 3(Critical thinking and problem solving)

Recap of the last day and other contextual questions will be done in the notebooks with the assistance
of the teacher.

The students will be explained the importance of family bond and strengthening of relationships.
Summarize and check for understanding.

Some questions will be asked based on the poem and doubts cleared.

Independent Practice

Based on the poem, describe the comparison between the poet’s mother and ‘the late winter’s moon’.

Closure

 Summarizing the poem.


 Students will be asked the use of various literary devices used in the poem.
 Suitability of the title will be discussed.
 Class test.
