The Devotion of Mary
The Devotion of Mary
Hail Mary
Devotion

THE DEVOTION OF TE 2,000 HAIL MARY’S
Close to March 21,1933, when Monsignor Juan Riu was fifteen and a half
years old, his co- seminarian said, “Riu, there is a pious belief assuring
that any grace asked from the Virgin Mary will be granted to whoever
prays the 2,000 Hail Marys”. Those words remained deep in his mind and
since then, every March 25, which is the Feast of the Annunciation, he
recited with great devotion, the 2,000 Hail Marys. He asked three favors
from our Lade: to become a Salesian, a priest and missionary. And then,
he waited trustfully for our Lady to grant his request.
On June 27, 1935, he made his vows as a Salesian. On June 15, 1946, he
was ordained a priest in Madrid, Spain. And on August 30, 1952, he as
assigned to San Juan, Puerto Rico and started his missionary apostolate
in the poorest slum.
Today, you are invited to pray 2, 000 Hail Marys to Our Lady, asking her
for any kind of favors, and TRUST that God will grant them through Our
Lady’s powerful intercession, in Jesus’ name. If it is for the good of our
soul, God will grant our request(s).

petition is read before each 100 Hail Marys. If you are in a group, designate
each person to lead the prayer of around 100 Hail Marys, i.e., if there 10 people
in the group, each one must lead two rounds of the Rosary to complete the 2,
000 Hail Marys. If more than 20 are present or are to expected, each member
may pray one round of the Hail Mary first. it will take about 8 ½ hours to
complete the 2,000 Hail Marys. Begin each round to 100 Hail Marys with the

OPENING HYMN: COME HOLY SPIRIT (page 24)
In the name of Jesus, I take authority and I bind all powers and forces of evil in the air, in
the ground, in the water, in the underground, in the netherworld, in nature and in fire.
You are the Lord over the entire universe, and I give You the Glory for Your creation.
In Your name, I bind all demonic forces that have come against us and our families and I
seal all of us in the protection of Your Precious Blood that was shed for us on the cross.
Mary, our Mother we seek your protection and intercession with the sacred Heart of
Jesus for us and our families. Surround us with your mantle of love to discourage the
enemy.
Saint Michael and our guardian angels, come defend us and our families in the battle
against all the evil one that roam the earth.
In the name of Jesus, I bind and command all the powers and forces of evil to depart
right now away from us, our families, our homes and lands and I cast you at the foot of
the cross to remain there forever. And I thank You Lord Jesus, for You are a faithful and
compassionate God. Amen.
Wherever goes to the Lord for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the
Almighty, can say to Him, “Him, You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in
You I Trust.”
He will keep you safe, all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases. He will cover you
with His wings, you will be safe in His care; His faithfulness will protect and defend you,
You need not fear any dangers at night or sudden attacks during the day or the plagues
that strike in the dark or evil that kill in daylight.
6
A thousand may fall dead beside you, ten thousand all around you, but you will not be
harmed. You will look and see how the wicked are punished.
You have made the Lord your defender, the Most High your protector, and so no disaster
will strike you, no violence will come near your home.
God will put His angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go. They will hold
up with their hands to keep you from hurting your feet on the stones.
You will trample down lions and snakes, fierce lions and poisonous snakes.
God says, “I will save those who love Me and I will protect those who
acknowledge Me as LORD. When they call to Me, I will answer them; when they
are in trouble, I will be with them. I will rescue them and honor them. I will
reward them with long life; I will save them.” Amen.
OPENING PRAYERS
Blessed the Holy Trinity one God, now and forever, Amen. Glory be to the Father who
created me; Glory be to the Son, who redeemed me; Glory be to the Holy Spirit who
sacrifices me.
We pray and implore the Holy Spirit come down and bestow upon us His Holy Gifts, so
that we will be inflamed with the power and the fire of His Love.
And once again, we gather ourselves together before You, dearest Blessed Mother, to pray
for ALL Your intentions. We know that You will bring our humble prayers together with
Yours, before the throne God and Your Beloved Son, and that in Your loving hands. You
will dispense of them for You know best to apply them where they are needed the most.
On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses, I offer myself, soul and
body to You, Eternal Spirit of God. I adore the brightness keenness of Your Justice, and
the might of Your Love. You are the strength and Light of my soul. In You I live and move
7
and am. I desire never to grieve You by unfaithfulness of grace, and I pray with all my
heart to be kept from the smallest sin against You. Mercifully guard my every thought and
grant that I may always watch for Your Light and listen to Your voice and follow your
Gracious inspirations. I cling to You and give myself to You and ask You, by Your
compassion to watch over me in my weakness.
Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus and looking at His Five Wounds and trusting in His
precious blood, and adoring His opened side and stricken heart, I implore You, Adorable
Spirit, helper of my infirmity, to keep me in Your grace that I may never sin against You.
Give me grace, O Holy Spirit, Spirit of the Father and the Son, to say to You always and
everywhere, “Speak Lord, for Your servant heareth.” Amen.
Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostate
before Your altar. We are Yours and we wish to be; but to be more surely united with You.
Behold each one of us freely consecrate ourselves today to Your Most Sacred Heart.
Many indeed have never known You; many, too, despising Your percepts, have rejected
You. Have mercy on them all, most Merciful Jesus, and draw them to Your Sacred Heart.
Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken You, but also of the
prodigal children who have abandoned You. Grant that they may be quickly return to
their Father’s house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger, Be King of those who are
deceived by erroneous opinions or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the
harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one
shepherd.
Grant O Lord, to Your Church, assurance of freedom and immunity from harm give peace
and order to all nations and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise
to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to Him be Glory and Honor forever. Amen.

A SOLEMN ACT OF CONSECRATIONTO THE
IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
BY: VENERALBE POPE PLUS XII
Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill desires of the Sacred Heart of
Jesus and at the request of the Vicar of Your Son on Earth, consecrate ourselves and our
families to Your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and
we recommend to You, all the people of our country and all the world. Please accept our
consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as You wish to accomplish Your designs in the
world.
O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary and Queen
of the World, rule over us together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, our King. Save
us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love
of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls and desire to pray the
Rosary more faithfully.
We come with confidence to You O Thorne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us
with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.
Make our hearts and homes Your shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus,
together with your rule, triumph I every heart and home. Amen.
O Divine Eternal Father, in union with Your Divine Son and the Holy Spirit, and through
the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg You to destroy the power of our greatest enemy- the
evil spirit. Cast them into the deepest recesses of hell and chain them there forever. Take
possession of Your Kingdom which You have created, and which is rightfully Yours.
Heavenly Father, give us the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart
of Mary.
I repeat this prayer out of pure love for You and every bear of my heart and every breath
I take. Amen.
9
PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL
Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the
wickedness and snares of the devil. May Gd rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou,
O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the divine power of God, cast into hell, Satan and all
the evil spirits, who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruins of souls. Amen.
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here. Ever this day
be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
ACT OF CONTRITION
O my God, I am sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because I dread
the loss of Heaven, and the pains of hell. But most of all, because I offend Thee my God,
who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace,
to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.
THE ANGELUS
10
Let us pray:
Pour forth, we beseech You, O Lord, Your Grace into our hearts; that we to whom the
incarnation of Christ Your Son was made known by the message of an angel, made by
His passion and cross be brought to the Glory of His Resurrection. Though the same
Christ, our Lord. Amen.
You expired Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and the ocean of mercy
opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelope
the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.
//O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus a fount of Mercy for
us I trust in You. // (3x)
O Most Merciful Jesus, Your goodness is infinite, and the treasures of Your grace
inexhaustible. I trust boundlessly in Your mercy, which is above all Your works. I
consecrate myself to You completely and unreservedly, so as to live and strive for
Christian perfection.
I want to spread Your mercy by performing works of mercy, both spiritual and corporal,
laboring especially for the conversion of sinners, bringing consolation to those in need,
to the sick and suffering.
Guard me then, O Jesus, as Your own possession and Your own glory. Though I
sometimes tremble with fear, aware of my weakness, at the time I have boundless trust
in Your mercy. Oh, that all people would come to know the infinite depths of Your mercy,
while there is still time, so that they may place their trust in Your merciful love and glorify
You Forever. Amen.

PETITIONS
15
Petition No. 2 WE PRAY FOR PEACE. Let peace begin within us and from us
so that we, in turn, may spread peace in the world to all mankind. Heal us of our faults
and weaknesses and let us realize that if we want to be cleansed and be healed, we must
first have total forgiveness and love in our hearts. Let us not dwell in things that are not
of God, like anger, pride, envy, and selfishness. But instead, pour in our hearts, through
the Holy Spirit, the gift of love, humility, patience, forgiveness, and understanding. It is
only though dying to one’s self that we can truly have peace. Amen.
16
mind God’s 5th commandment, “Thou shall not kill” and avoid this serious sin against
God. Amen.
17
Petition No. 7 WE PRAY FOR MORE VOCATIONS. Please put into the hearts
of young people the awareness of service to God through the increase in vocations. Let
parents encourage their children and give them an upbringing filled with an awareness of
their blessed state in life. Bless all seminarians who are now studying and preparing
themselves for the priesthood. Strengthen and give them perseverance. Guide them and
guard them for they belong to You Lord. Amen.
Petition No. 8 TEACH US THE DAILY READING OF THE HOLY BIBLE AND
SPIRITUAL BOOKS. Because God Himself talk to us when we read the scriptures of His
life. His teachings and His Holy Words in the Bible. May the Holy Spirit enlighten our
minds and five us the grace to live the Gospel, and to put into the practice all that we’ve
read of the words and ways of our Lord Jesus in our daily lives, in essence, “To imitate
Jesus and live the Word.” Amen.

Petition No. 12 WE PRAY FOR OUR DELIVERANCE FROM THE ENEMY, THE
DEVIL. Mother Mary, please rescue us the moment Satan or any other evil spirit tries to
tempt us to fall into sin and deliver us from all distractions that pull us away from the path
that leads to you and Jesus. Grant us the wisdom to discern, so that we will be able to
19
distinguish right from wrong, good from evil. You have obtained from Your Divine son
that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court
during their life at the hour of death. So, in this great battle for souls, let us arm ourselves
with the power of the Rosary and the Holy Eucharist, wear the miraculous medals and
the scapular with faith, to save us from the eternal fires of hell. Amen.
Petition No. 13 WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE OF FASTING NOT ONLY FORM
FOOD, BUT FROM THE WORDLY AND MATERIAL THINGS AND OFFER THEM TO
YOU IN SACRIFICE. Let our fasting from food and the materialism of this world be our
offering for the atonement of our sins and in reparations for the sins of mankind. Make
us aware of our priorities in life, which is the salvation of souls, and the detachment from
the materialism that this world falsely offers. All these hinders us from the love,
knowledge and service of God. Amen.
Petition No. 14 WE PRAY FOR THE INFIRM AGED, THE SICK AND THE
DYING. Bless them in their last days. May they lift and offer their life’s suffering to God,
receive the last sacraments, obtain pardon for their sins, and thereby merit the fullness of
God’s grace. In the end, may our Lord and His Blessed Mother take them safely home to
their eternal abode in heaven. Amen.

Petition No. 16 WE PRAY FOR THE POOR, THE HUNGRY, THE HOMELESS
AND THE ORPHANS, FOR IT IS ESPECIALLY IN THEM THAT WE SEE THE LORD.
Bless them in their needs, O Lord, and give them their means of support. We also pray
for those who are in prison. Touch their hearts for the total conversion and grant them
Your peace. We pray that these beloved children of God may be spared from oppression,
and may we never refuse their cry for help. Amen
Petition No. 17 WE PRAY FOR OUR PRIEST, THE RELIGIOUS AND TO SERVE
YOUR PEOPLE SPIRITUALLY IN LOVE AND DILIGENCE. May be renewed in spirit
and remain faithful to their vows and commitment to God. Keep them from sickness, and
temptation and harm, so that they could give more of themselves unselfishly and become
more zealous to their apostolate. Amen.
Petition No. 18 WE PRAY FOR ALL FAMILIES AND OUR OWN FAMILIES
TOO. May families always be together in love and in prayer. Let children honor and obey
their parents and let parents love and protect their children the way God loves protects
His children. We pray that wives and children be spared from abuse and molestation of
21
all sorts. May all families grow spiritually in unity and faith with Jesus and Mary and
protect us from the terrible chastisement that is to come. Amen.

THE MEMORARE
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled
to the protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I
come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the word Incarnate, despise
not my petition, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
CLEANSING PRAYER
Oh Loving Father, as intercessors, we have taken upon us the burdens and the grief of
Your people, but we know that You do not want these burdens and grief to remain in us.
We therefore bring all these to Your throne of grace, where You will dispose of them
according to Your wonderful and divine plan. Wash us clean of these burdens with the
blood of the Lamb. Lighten our hearts and fill us with Your peace, love and joy.
Almighty Father, we ask now for You to soak us with the Holy Blood of Jesus to cleanse
us from any burden and any unclean spirit that might have clung to us as intercessors. In
Jesus’ name, we bind them all at the foot of the Cross until You, O Lord tell it where to
go. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Sone and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

PRAYER BEFORE EACH PETITION
OFFERING
Lord, we offer You this light to guide us through the darkness and to help us overcome
the trials You have given us. Amen.
Lord, we offer You this flower and mantle through blessed Mother Mary as sign of love
and service to humanity. Amen.
One of the most important of all the revelation of Fatina is the last great vision of June 13, 1929,
at Tuy in Spain. While making late night holy hour in the convent chapel of Lucia, now a dorothean nun,
witnessed the vision which appears to be synthesis of the Fatima message. In her own words, Lucia
describes the vision:
Suddenly the whole chape was illuminated by a supernatural light, and a cross of light
appeared above the altar, reaching the ceiling. In a bright light at the upper part of the cross
could be seen the face of a man and his body to the waist (Father) on his breast there was a
dove also of light (Holy Spirit) and nailed to the cross, was the body of another man (Son).
Somewhat above the waist, I could see a chalice and a large host suspended in the air, on to
which drops of blood were falling from the face of Jesus Crucified and from the wound from
His side. These drops run down onto the host and fell into the chalice. Our Lady was beneath
the right arm of the cross (…it was Our Lady of Fatima with Her Immaculate Heart… in Her
left hand… without sword or roses, but with a crown of thorns and flames…). Under the left
arm of the cross, large letters as of crystal-clear water which ran down over the altar, formed
these words: Graces and Mercy.
I understood that it was the Mystery of the Most Holy Trinity which was shown to me, and I
received the lights about this Mystery which I am not permitted to reveal.
Our Lady then said to me:
The moment has come when God asks the Holy Father, in union with all the Bishops of the world,
to make the consecration of Russia to my Heart, promising to save it by this means.

MASS ETIQUETTE: Things To Do And Not To Do In Mass
1. Fast before Mass. It is a Church law that one fasts for at least 1 hour before receiving the Holy
Communion. Water and medicine can be consumed, of course. The purpose is to help us
prepare to receive Jesus in the Eucharist.
2. No Food and Drink in Church. The exception would be a drink for a small children, water
fort the priest or choir (if discreet) and water for those who are ill. Bringing snacks into church
is not appropriate; we want to set the church apart as a place of prayer and reflection.
3. Men take your hats off.
4. Don’t chew gum in church. It breaks your fast, it is distracting.
5. Cross yourself with Holy Water on entering the church. This is a reminder of our
Baptism, which made us members of Christ’s Church. Try to remain mindful of what is
happening when you do so and don’t do it without saying a prayer.
6. Dress modesty and appropriately. Wear your Sunday best. As Catholics we believe that
God comes down to meet us every Mass. So, why would we not dress up?
7. Show up at least a few minutes early. Getting a Mass early allows you to pray and prepare
yourself better for Mass.
8. Cellphones should never be used in Mass for calls or texting. Exceptions are
emergencies (big ones, not everyday ones) and if you use one, please walk out of Church.
9. When we enter and leave Church, genuflect toward the Tabernacle. Christ is present for
our sake. By allowing our right knee to hit the floor, we acknowledge He is our Lord and God. If
someone is physically unable to genuflect, then a bow is sufficient. During Mass, if you pass in
front of the altar or tabernacle, bow reverently.
10. Please be quiet while in church. If you must talk, do so as quietly and briefly as possible.
Remember that your conversation might be disturbing someone who is in prayer.
11. Take loud children to the back. Every parent knows that sometimes the baby is going to
have a bad day. Don’t make everyone else’s day bad as well.
12. Prepare your offering before Mass. Keeping the basket while you get your wallet can
sometimes become quiet a scene.
13. Respect boundaries, others may have. You might want to hold hands to pray, they may not.
They might be sick and not want to shake during the sign of peace. Do not make any
unnecessary judgement because they worship differently.
14. Bow before receiving Holy Communion. If it is God, then show your respect with a bow of
the head. This is an ancient practice that has continued until this day.
15. Do not leave early. We should stay to the end of the recession and the hymn.
16. Pray after Mass. If you feel called to do so. It is a good custom, though not required, to offer a
prayer of thanksgiving Mass is over.
17. Leave quietly. We encourage you to visit with others, but once you are outside of the main
sanctuary of the church, so you won’t disturb others who want to stay and pray.
“Please come to Mass early enough not to disrupt. Late enough not to insult. Worship reverently enough not to distract. And dress proudly enough not to
offend.”
