FOOTBALL TRAINING

We are going to train a pass skill with focus to stamina factor.

Periodisation: MATCH DAY -3.

Physical needs for sport:

We need power, strength and stamina. In other hand agility and decision making are
important needs too.

Peak season:

This season is to work in high season, when the team had some tactical principles.

Active Warm-up with Dynamic Stretching (15 mins)

Organization:24x24 grid - Cones 8 yards apart. Have one less ball than there are
players, in center flags.
Activity: On coaches command players move left or right, the number of cones
coaches: right, high knees, 4 cones. left, side step 3 cones. Once coach yells ATTACK,
each players sprints to center flags, dribbles a ball back to an open cone, does 10 toe
touches on top of ball, then returns ball back to center, then sprints back to an open
cone. The one player left without a ball must remain in center flags doing jumping
jacks until all players have returned all balls and are back at an open cone. Then that
player will go back to an open cone and resume left or right commands from coach.
Progression One, First touch (10 mins)

Organization: Cones, 10 yards apart, 20 yards from player to player lines. Two balls,
one for line A and one for line D.
Activity:C runs to center to recieve pass from A, C then dribbles around center
defender and then passes back to line C. Then switch, D runs to center where player
recieves pass from B, D dribbles around center defender, then sends ball back to line
D. Next, A runs to center to recieve pass from line C, etc. Keep repeating, should move
quickly.
Variations:Progression One: Recieve pass and quickly move around the defender.
Coaching Points: Speed, accelerate to recieve ball quickly, on toes ready to recieve.
Keep ball close to body. First touch is critical to move around the defender safely.
Main Activity

 Exercise #2 Orientation (25 mins)


 Organization
 24 minutes - 3x6 minutes periods
 Rest 2 minutes per block
 Team structure 6v5: Red team (2, 3, 1 ) vs Blue team ( 3, 1, 1, )
 Field size 70x44 yards with a 10 yards end zone

Cool down

10 minutes of stretching.
