📗Task 7 – reading
The Monkey Temple in Kathmandu

I'll never forget the first time I visited the Swayambhunath temple in Kathmandu. It was last
year, and it was the first day of a festival that takes place every October. The festival is called
Dashain and it's the most important one for Hindus in Nepal. When I arrived at the temple, I
saw lots of people there. There were many Nepali Hindu families, but there were also some
foreigners. The temple is very old and it's also known as the Monkey temple because there
are many monkeys there. I spent the whole day there and I took many photographs. I also
met a lot of interesting people.
When I got home, I showed my photos to my friends and family and I described everything I
did and saw. They loved the photos and they asked me a lot of questions about the festival,
the temple, the monkeys, and the people I met. I gave advice about visiting the temple and I
told them not to take any food with them because the monkeys take it! I also told them that
the views from the top of the temple are amazing.
Orthodox Jewish Wedding

Last summer, my friend invited me to his wedding. He is an Orthodox Jew and the wedding
was in Israel. I bought a new suit for the wedding because it's traditional to wear formal
fabric clothes. The wedding was on a Sunday and it lasted all day. In the morning, there was
a religious ceremony in a synagogue. Then we went to a big hall for the party. There was a
lot of music and dancing. We danced in front of the bride and groom and they danced
together. I had a great time!
In the evening, I was very tired, but I was happy because it was a fantastic day. I learned a lot
about Jewish traditions and customs. For example, the men and women don't dance together.
They dance in separate groups. I also learned that it's traditional to give money as a wedding
present. The bride and groom usually receive the money after the ceremony.
