CROCODILE IN THE RIVER

During the previous school holiday, Hadif and his friends went fishing by the river near
their village. The river was just a stone’s throw away from Pak Dollah’s orchard. After
cycling for about half an hour, the boys finally reached the place and they quickly looked
for a shady spot to put their things. They had brought along a lot of food and drinks. They
planned to spend the whole day there to catch a lot of fish.

Without wasting time, they threw their fishing rods into the river. While
waiting for their baits to attract the fish, they had their lunch. Suddenly, Hadif noticed that
his fishing rod was jolting. He checked on it and saw something big was floating in the
water. It was coming towards his bait. He thought it was a crocodile! Feeling scared,
he screamed his lung out. Everyone panicked and ran for their lives. They even climbed up
a tree!

As the object floated, Hadif braved himself to take a closer look at it.
He realised that it was just a log and not a crocodile. They felt relieved and burst out into
huge laughter.

Guess what? I participated in my annual school sports day last week. It was full of fun and
excitement. Parents came to support their children too. I took part in 100 metres run and long
jump. I won gold medals for both events and even broke the school record for 100 metres run. I
felt as proud as a peacock while standing on the podium and everyone gave me a huge applause .
I also took part in the march past for the Red House but we landed on the second place.
However, we are still proud of ourselves because working on the synchronization movements
