RE: APPLICATION FOR VISITOR VISA - MRS.

EDEWOR EDNA ONAJOVO

I am writing to strongly emphasize the circumstances surrounding the unintentional overstay of
my previous UK visitor visa. My first UK visitor visa was issued on June 27, 2022, and it expired
on December 27, 2022. I understand that this overstay raises concerns, and I want to clarify the
circumstances surrounding it.
I received a heartfelt invitation letter from my son-in-law, who resides in the UK with my
daughter and my beloved grandchildren, Micah (age 10) and Rita (age 5). The letter of invitation
indicated that I would stay for 27 days, and I eagerly accepted the invitation, as my family holds
a special place in my heart.
I commenced my journey on July 19, 2022, with the sole intention of staying for the specified 27
days, planning to return on August 14, 2022. However, I made a regrettable mistake due to
ignorance regarding the validity of my visa. I believed that the six-month duration of my visa
would start counting from the day of my arrival in the UK.
During my period of overstay, I resided at my son-in-law's address, 46 Harvington Road,
Birmingham, West Midlands, B29 5EL, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I
want to emphasize the profound love and devotion I hold for my grandchildren, Micah and Rita.
My stay extended because I wanted to nurture and take care of them, ensuring they received
the love and attention they deserve from their grandmother. I am deeply grateful for my son-in-
law's unwavering support during this time. He generously took care of all my accommodation,
transportation, feeding, and other personal expenses, allowing me to dedicate my time and
energy to my cherished grandchildren. This decision to stay was driven by my maternal instincts
and my strong desire to create lasting memories with Micah and Rita. It is essential to note
that, upon realizing my unintentional overstay, I took immediate action to rectify the situation. I
left the UK voluntarily on the 14th of January 2023. My departure was not only in compliance
with the immigration rules but also a testament to my commitment to abiding by the laws of
the United Kingdom. I fully acknowledge that my overstay was unintentional and a result of my
misunderstanding of the visa rules. I assure you that I deeply regret this oversight and the
damage it may have caused to my application's credibility.
I would like to provide some additional information about my circumstances to demonstrate my
strong commitment to abiding by the rules and regulations during any future visits to the UK. I
am a 64-year-old retiree with a stable living situation. I own a one-story property located at
Sector G, Abuja Road, Steel Town 1, Delta Steel Company, Orhuwhorun Warri, Delta 234087,
Nigeria. I have resided in this property for the past ten years, and I have attached the relevant
documentation of property ownership to this application.
My annual income consists of 1,200,000 NGN, which is comprised of regular allowances from
my family and pension. My monthly living expenses are approximately 50,000 NGN, leaving me
with ample disposable income to fund my visit to the UK. I plan to allocate 200,000 NGN of my
personal income for this visit's personal expenses, even though my son-in-law, as my sponsor,
will cover my accommodation, transportation, and food costs.
I want to assure you that the proposed trip aligns with my income and financial resources. My
genuine intention is to spend quality time with my family, especially my grandchildren, Micah
and Rita. I have attached relevant documents to support my financial situation and the purpose
of my visit.
If granted leave to enter as a visitor, I commit to complying with all conditions attached to such
leave and will depart the UK on completion of my proposed visit. I deeply value the opportunity
to be with my family and would like to request your understanding and consideration regarding
my unintentional overstay.
I hope that my explanation underscores the genuine love and care I have for my family,
particularly my beloved grandchildren, and I am confident that my intentions for this visit were
rooted in nurturing their well-being and creating lasting bonds and that you will grant me the
opportunity to visit my family in the UK once again.

Yours sincerely,
