MANUSCRIPT TITLE

(Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold Capital)

ABSTRACT

All manuscripts must be accompanied by a 250-word (maximum) abstract. The manuscript


should be written in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Please use Times New Roman 11 pt, single-
spaced and justified. The abstract needs to contain (1) the background of the study (max 2
sentences); (2) the aim of the study; (3) methods (if applicable); (4) results or findings; and (5)
the conclusion.

Keywords should represent the content of your manuscript and consist of three to four
keywords.

INTRODUCTION
The manuscript is written in Times New Roman 12 pt, single-spaced, in one-column
format, on standard A4-sized paper (21 cm x 29.7 cm) between 10-15 pages long (6000-
8000 words). Please use 2 cm for the top, bottom, right, and left margins. The
indentation distance from the left margin is 1 cm. Please do not place page numbers,
headers, and footers in the manuscript. The manuscript should be in MS Word format
(.doc or .docx).
The manuscript should be submitted through the online submission system on
Paramita: Historical Studies Journal page at
http://journal.unnes.ac.id/nju/index.php/paramita. Authors must register first before
submitting their manuscripts.

The introduction summarizes the fundamentals, critically evaluates the previous


research study (the literature review of the last ten years), and clearly states the aims.
The introduction contains (1) the background of the study, (2) a brief literature
review, (3) problems, and (4) the aims. The literature review is used to find research
novelty. The author evaluates the previous research to find research problems and state
the originality and novelty of the writing idea. The introduction includes the
fundamental issues showing that the study's theme/topic/title is essential and exciting.
Additionally, in this section, the theoretic discourse of the critical and exciting
issues is presented as the focus of the study. Furthermore, issues that develop in reality
related to the theoretic discourse are presented as well. Finally, the researchers find
opportunities to conduct more in-depth research. This section is written in 3 pages
(maximum).
Paramita Historical Studies Jurnal accepts the original manuscript written by an
individual or in a group and never published in any form. The manuscript comes from
research results, article review, or conceptual study. The manuscript is written in
English about historical studies, including (1) historiography, (2) philosophy of history,
(3) history of education, and (4) history education.
(1) Historiography means the writing of history based on the critical examination
of sources, the selection of particular details from the authentic materials in those
sources, and the synthesis of those details into a narrative that stands the test of critical
examination. Historiography studies cover chronologically various themes, such as local
history, social history, cultural history, economic history, political history, military
history, intellectual history, environmental history, and other historical studies. (2)
Philosophy of history is the study of either the historical process and its development or
the methods used by historians to understand their material. (3) History of education is a
study of the past that focuses on educational issues. These include education systems,
institutions, theories, themes, and other related phenomena in the past. (4) History
education includes studies of how history is taught in school or society, curriculum,
educational values in events, figures, historical heritage, media and sources of historical
learning, history teachers, and studies of textbooks.

RESEARCH METHODS (for research article)


Contains the data sources and procedures for verifying the data, various approaches
used in the study, historical sources, and several steps in a concise manner.

SUBTITLE (may be more than one)


The subtitle contains the results and discussion of the study. The discussion should (1)
Tell how the paper's results contribute to answering the big questions posed in the
Introduction; (2) Explain how (and why) this work agrees or disagrees with other,
similar work; (3) Explain how the limitations of this study leave the big questions
unanswered; (4) Tells how extensions of this paper's results will help answer the big
questions.
The number and name of subtitles are adjusted to the main findings or discussion
in the manuscript. This section is between 10-12 pages long. Note that this section may
contain a table(s) and image(s).
If the manuscript contains image(s), the image(s) is placed in the center of the
page (centered) with 12cm- length. Ensure that if the authors take image(s) from other
sources, they must include the sources of these images.

In the case of the manuscript containing a table, the table length cannot exceed one
page. If so, it is recommended to be included in the attachment.

Information originating from specific sources is required to include the quotation. An


in-text citation uses a side note based on APA (American Psychological Association)
standard 7th edition. Example: Ahmad (2016, p. 99), (Ahmad, 2016, p. 99), (Ahmad,
2016, pp. 99-101).

CONCLUSION
Consists of the highlighted findings and their meanings concisely and must follow the
purpose of writing. The conclusion is one paragraph and 400 words (max).

ACKNOWLEDGMENT (if applicable)


This contains the authors’ statements to individuals or entities that have provided
essential support in compiling the manuscript. In addition, this section also states
various statements that support the writing purposes.

REFERENCES
References refer to all sources used in the discussion; only references cited within the
text should be included. When formatting your references, please follow the APA
(American Psychological Association) reference style (7th Edition). In-text (citation) is
strongly recommended in citation management programs such as Mendeley, Endnote,
