DPS GREATER FARIDABAD

VACATION TIMES- SUNLIT STUDIES

CLASS V

Summer's here, birds chirp in jubilee,

Hot air dances by the bay so free,

Refreshing drinks bring sweet respite,

Calling for play, a joyful rite.

Summer calls for chilling, laid-back scenes,

Thrills await in these sunny dreams,

Relax, unwind, let worries fade,

Enjoy the break the season has made!

As the academic session 2024-25 commenced with great energy, our students have

settled comfortably into their classes. However, with the rising summer

temperatures, our Dipsites look forward to the upcoming vacation period. It's a

time for relaxation, reconnection with friends and family, and exploration of new

places—a chance to savour the simple joys often overlooked amidst the hustle of

school life.

The summer vacation is scheduled from May 18th to June 30th, 2024.

To ensure our students make the most of this break in a constructive manner, we

have assigned Holiday Homework & Projects. These tasks are designed to keep

them engaged and observant, while also providing an enjoyable learning experience.

The projects are designed to be easily manageable by the children, with your

assistance required only where necessary.

A few suggestions that you may like to keep in mind are:

Devote quality time to bonding with your children. Take them on outings and enjoy

activities together.

Foster empathy, affection, and tolerance in your children.

Allow them opportunities to care for you and their elders, as well as younger

siblings.

Motivate your children to read books to enrich their language abilities. Reading will

also enhance their comprehension and expose them to valuable literary

experiences.

B. Read the chapter- To catch a smuggler

liked the story, which character was your favourite etc).

2. IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONS
Imagine if words could play dress-up and put on costumes to become even more interesting. Well,
that’s exactly what idioms do! Idioms are like word costumes that add a splash of creativity to our
everyday conversations and even make our creative writing more exciting and colourful while
adding depth, and beauty to our words ; they are a gateway to bridge the gap between mere
communication and artful expression.
creative pictorial representation, note down the
idioms and their meanings in your scrap book.
