Charter and Constitution

Article I: League and Season Structure


A. Corporate Sponsors: Our Corporate Sponsors, to better manage and
promote the sport of Rollerball worldwide, hereby sanction and authorize the creation of
Major League Rollerball (MLR or Rollerball) to manage, support and develop all aspects
of the sport of Rollerball both professional and amateur. This shall include, but is not
limited to: team ownership and management; stadium construction, ownership and
maintenance; minor league development and promotion; education, advertising and
promotion of Rollerball; staffing and management of teams and venues; player
development, salaries and compensation; team promotion, relegation and invitation.
MLR oversight and management shall be by direct oversight of a Directorate composed
of the six (6) Corporate Executive Officers of our Corporate Sponsors (the Energy
Corporation, Luxury Corporation, Food Corporation, Transport Corporation, Housing
Corporation, and the Communications Corporation). The position of Director of
Rollerball, shall be rotated each year between the CEO's of our Corporate Sponsors
B. League Structure: In its inaugural season of play, Major League Rollerball
shall establish twenty-four (24) clubs divided into two (2) Conferences: the Global
Rollerball Conference (GRC) and the World Rollerball Conference (WRC). Each
conference shall contain twelve (12) clubs divided into three (3) Corporate Divisions of
four (4) clubs. Each division shall be owned and overseen by a single Corporate
Sponsor and shall be named for its Corporate Sponsor. Each club in each division shall
be wholly owned and overseen by a Corporate Sponsor or its subsidiaries.
C. League Match-ups: The inaugural season shall be a double round-robin of
twenty-two (22) rounds with each club alternating home and away. There shall be no
inter-conference games played during the inaugural regular season. Divisional rivals
shall play each other once at home and once away for a total of six (6) divisional
games. Conference opponents shall also play each other once at home and once away
for a total of sixteen (16) games. Inter-conference matches may be organized between
clubs after the completion of the play-offs and before the start of the pre-season. The
pre-season training and try-out session shall commence no later than March 1st of each
year. The regular season shall commence no later than April 1st of each year and shall
conclude no later than the final week of August each year. The play-offs shall conclude
by October 1st of each year. A player draft shall be scheduled for the first weekend in
February of each year.
D. Points System: Following the completion of each round of play, teams shall
be awarded three (3) points in the standings for a win , including overtime (sudden
death) victories, and one (1) point for an over-time (sudden death) loss. In all games, a
sudden death overtime period with no time limit shall be employed till a goal is earned
by either team. No points shall be awarded for a loss otherwise. No additional points
shall be awarded for any other in-game achievements such as three (3) or more goals
scored by a single player (hat-trick) or assists, etc.
E. Tie Breaks: Ties between two clubs of the same division shall be broken by
comparing their divisional record, then their conference record, and then their head-to-
head record, goal differentials, and finally total goals scored. For seeding the play-offs,
the same criteria except divisional records shall be compared, in the event of an
irresolvable tie, a coin flip shall determine the which team qualifies for the play-offs.

Article II: World Championship


A. The Playoffs: At the conclusion of the regular season, four (4) teams from
each conference shall be seeded into a tournament to determine the World
Championship of Rollerball. Each of the three (3) divisional winners plus the second-
place team with the most points from each conference (wild card) shall play for the
Conference Title and the right to face the opposing conference's champion for the World
Championship in a best-of-three series. The runners-up from each of the Conference
Title matches shall also play-off for third place. The Third Place game shall be played
before the second game of the Championship Series. The World Championship Series
and the Third Place Match shall be played at a neutral site pre-selected by the
Directorate before the start of the Regular Season and shall alternate between the
Global Conference and World Conference clubs on a yearly rotation.
B. Playoff Seeding: Seeding for the tournament shall be strictly based on the
point standings during the Regular Season and will be determined before the start of the
tournament. The First seeded club shall have home field against the Fourth seeded
club. The Second seeded club shall have home field against the Third place club.
Home field shall always be awarded to the team with the most points during the regular
season.

Article III: Expansion, Invitation, Promotion, and Relegation


A. Expansion & Invitation: Our Corporate Sponsors, depending on their
management decisions, may unanimously vote at the conclusion of each season to
expand MLR by invitation to any existing minor league club or by expansion into a new
market by creating new clubs. However, MLR shall not contract to fewer than twenty-
four (24) clubs. Expansion shall always be balanced to ensure an even schedule.
B. Promotion & Relegation: At the conclusion of the Regular Season and
Playoffs, our Corporate Sponsors shall determine by unanimous vote which clubs shall
be promoted from the minor leagues and which clubs shall be relegated from Major
League Rollerball to play in the minor leagues. The number of teams to be promoted or
relegated shall be no less than one (1) and no more than six (6) each season. This
shall ensure world class competition and entertainment, and prevent club dynasties with
excessive World Titles.
C. Minor League System: The Directorate shall oversee the various minor
leagues and regional leagues that shall serve as the primary training and developmental
regime for players. Each of our six major Corporate Sponsors shall establish and
maintain their own minor league clubs and shall have proprietary control over all
aspects of the and clubs and players. Players may be traded or advanced through the
minor leagues at the discretion of their Corporate Sponsor. During the course of the
MLR Regular Season, player replacement and rehabilitation shall be the primary goal of
all minor league clubs. Player assets shall be protected with recovery and rehabilitation
when possible. Minor league players can be promoted and demoted freely within a
Corporate Sponsor's minor league system throughout the entire MLR Regular Season
and Playoffs to ensure full rosters for all Major League clubs. No minor league games
shall be scheduled or exhibitions played during the Major League Playoffs and all minor
league players shall be available for immediate promotion if necessary.

Article IV: Player Draft


A. The Draft: Each year during the first weekend of February, MLR and its
Corporate Sponsors shall conduct a player draft. Each of our six major Corporate
Sponsors shall each pick in turn, based on lottery selection, for unlimited rounds until all
eligible players are selected or our Corporate Sponsors have determined that the Draft
is complete.
B. Eligibility: Any player above the age of sixteen (16) seeking to be drafted may
submit an application and game film to the Directorate Office of Personnel for a
determination of eligibility. If approved by scouts, that player shall be eligible for
selection by one of our Corporate Sponsors.
C. Assignment: Upon selection by a Corporate Sponsor, players may be
assigned to a Major League, minor league or regional league club controlled by the
Corporate Sponsor. Players not assigned by the Corporate Sponsor are released and
must re-submit their application for the next season's Draft.

Article V: Player Compensation


A. Duty To The Corporation: Upon selection and assignment by a Corporate
Sponsor, a player becomes the exclusive asset of the Corporation. At all times, a player
is tasked with performing his duties on and off the track in accordance with the
Corporation's best interests and management decisions. A player may be released by a
Corporation at any time for any reason. Players deemed physically unable to continue
may receive a severance package commensurate with his contributions and
experience.
B. Compensation: Players shall be compensated by their Corporate Sponsor in
any manner the Corporation deems appropriate for the players' contributions and
experience. Health care and rehabilitation shall be provided by the Corporation to the
extent the player can remain an asset to the Corporation. Housing, clothing, food, all
other basic necessities shall be provided by the Corporation during the course of the
player's employment with the Corporation.
C. Privilege Cards: Privilege Cards may be issued by the Corporation to the
player as compensation for all other non-traditional compensation including cash and
services.

Article VI: Amendments


This Charter and Constitution may be amended at any future time only by
unanimous vote of Our Corporate Sponsors.
