Eee CODE OF CONDUCT EFFECTIVE DATE: December 10, 2020 RESCINDS: GO-303 (07/16/20) NUMBER OF PAGES: 9 [CALEA STANDARDS: N/A 303.01 GENERAL ORDER This General Order establishes guidelines for the Chief of Police or designee to determine the appropriate discipline for a particular offense. The offenses listed in this General Order are not all inclusive, but serve as a general guide for determining the appropriate discipline for particular offenses or ones similar in nature. OFFENSE MATRIX The offense matrix below identifies violations of Department General Orders and Clark County School District (CCSD) rules and regulations. Each specific violation contains a class designation that corresponds to the chart of sanctions found near the end of this General Order. 303.02 The chart of sanctions was developed to assist in the uniform application of a progressive discipline system by establishing guidelines for discipline. Conference memorandums may be positive or corrective in nature and are not considered discipline. Conference memorandums may be used in employee evaluations. Conference memorandums will be signed by the affected member and placed in the member's work location file and Supervisor Employee File (SEF). PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PLAN (PIP) ‘A Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) can be used to document a performance related issue. A PIP is corrective in nature and is not considered discipline; however, the employee shall comply with the supervisor's direction. Failure to comply with the PIP may result in disciplinary action. The PIP may be used in the member's evaluations. A PIP is implemented at the discretion of the supervisor when it becomes necessary to help an employee improve their performance. The supervisor, with input from the affected employee, will identify the deficient performance areas, and document the issues on the Performance Improvement Plan (SPD-GO306.1). The supervisor will determine the duration of the PIP up to 90 days and, if necessary, will determine if the PIP should be extended beyond the 90 days. All documentation will be ‘maintained by the immediate supervisor in the SEF. The supervisor will monitor the employee's performance to ensure continued success. Performance Improvement Plans will be signed by the affected employee and the issuing supervisor acknowledging the information which has been documented in the PIP.
