League Format

For this inaugural season, the league will use the current Blood Bowl: Second Season ruleset.

Regular season games will be played as an 8-week randomized round robin tournament. Each
coach will play a different random opponent once a week for 8 weeks. Post-season games will
run in a playoff format to determine who will win the Rain City Games Blood Bowl League
Championship Trophy!

Each week will run Tuesday to Monday, and coaches will play their weekly game sometime
during that period. Official timeslots will be made available for in-store games, but you’re
welcome to arrange alternate times with that week’s opponent if needed.

Additionally, during the regular season, coaches will be authorized to play a single exhibition
game each week against any team that agrees to play against them. Exhibition games will not
affect league standings, but all winnings, star player points, injuries and recoveries will stand.
Thus, a team’s rating may increase or decrease as a result of playing in an exhibition game.

Ideally, all regular season games will be played at the Rain City Games Vancouver location. It
will be each coach’s responsibility to work with Rain City Games staff to coordinate table
reservations. Coaches are allowed to use other venues, though they obviously won’t be able to
make use of any supplies, dice, boards or minis that Rain City Games can provide.

League Standings and Scoring

A team’s rating in the standings will be calculated as follows:

● A team will be awarded 3 points for a regular season win.

● A team will be awarded 2 points for a regular season tie.
● A team will be awarded 1 point for a regular season loss.
● A team will be awarded 0 points if they are required to forfeit a game (due to not being
able to play).

If two teams are tied in points at the end of the regular season, the tie will be broken based on
how well painted each team is, as decided by the league commissioner and staff.

Requirements and Fees

Pitches, dice, minis and all other supplies will be provided by Rain City Games for coaches to
use in-store.

Rain City Games owns a handful of teams and can provide miniatures for in-store use to any
coach that does not have their own, but coaches are expected to have their own miniatures by
the end of the regular season. Rain City Games has the following teams:

● Humans
● Imperial Nobility
● Orcs
● Black Orcs
● Shambling Undead
● Ogres
Proxy minis will be allowed for the first three weeks of the tournament (ex. using Black Orcs in
place of Lizardmen), but after week 3, proper GW minis must be used. Miniatures do not need
to be painted, though there is a prize for the best-painted team.

There will be a $50 fee for the entire league, payable up front.

Each coach will be required to sign up for a TourPlay.net account to register their team and track
their team’s progress in the league.

Team Construction
Any team found in the Blood Bowl: Second Season rulebook is eligible. Teams will be
constructed with 1,000,000 Gold Pieces as per the Blood Bowl: Second Season ruleset.

Rules of Play
For this league we won’t be using any special rules found in any books other than the main
Blood Bowl Second Season rulebook*, with the exception of a single house rule as follows:

Each coach will designate a single player as their team captain. The team captain will get one
free upgrade immediately. This upgrade will not cost any Star Player Points, nor will it affect the
player’s value. The captain will still be considered to be at 0 SPP. To determine what the
upgrade is, 2d6 will be rolled (on Discord or in the presence of the league’s commissioner) and
the following chart consulted:

● 2-9: a randomly rolled primary skill.

● 10: +1 to PA, or a randomly selected secondary skill.
● 11: +1 to MA or a randomly selected secondary skill.
● 12: +1 to AV or a randomly selected secondary skill.

* Though the league commissioner reserves the right to change any league rules

Inducements
All inducements found in the Blood Bowl: Second Season Official Rule Book will be available to
coaches.

Prizing
At the end of the playoffs, the championship team will be crowned as the first ever Rain City
Games Blood Bowl Champions. Prizing for the coach of said team will be a $75 Rain City
Games gift card and getting their name on the Rain City Games Blood Bowl Championship
Trophy!

Additionally, the coach deemed by the league’s commissioner to have the best-painted
miniatures will receive a $25 Rain City Games gift card.
