CHURCH THE GOOD SHEPHERD OF BREÑA-ADP

SCHOOL OF BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP (EDB)

LIMA PERU

PRESENTATION

The SCHOOL OF BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP (EDB) is promoted and developed by the

pastoral body of the Good Shepherd Church of Breña of the Assemblies of God of Peru, this project is
born from the pastoral experience in the area of Christian education in several representative churches
of the Assemblies of God in Lima and as a theology professor in several theological seminaries and the
Universidad Seminario Bíblico Andino.
This project of the School of Biblical Discipleship (EDB) is to form disciples for the members
of the El Buen Pastor de Breña church and for the brothers who wish to join this study of biblical
discipleship. We collect the experiences of the Peruvian and Latin American context. of those who
work with the challenge of discipleship in their churches in the midst of a very difficult context for
discipleship.
This project of the School of Biblical Discipleship (EDB) has as transversal axes:
THEOLOGY, BIBLICAL SCIENCES, SOCIAL SCIENCES AND PASTORAL CARE. The
School of Biblical Discipleship (EDB) is expected to be relevant, comprehensive, dynamic and of
excellence, to empower the student of integral discipleship from the El Buen Pastor de Breña Church.

1- Nature of the project

The Good Shepherd Church of Breña, offers the School of Biblical Discipleship with the
purpose of contributing and giving current tools to the church's task of Discipling the members of the
church in a context of postmodernity and globalization, marked by a digital culture, we need effective
pastoral action to form disciples in evangelical churches, with an education based on biblical values,
this school of Biblical Discipleship will carry out biblical theological reflection, show the path of the
disciple who lives in difficult times to create Christian leaders competent in the evangelical churches.

2- Justification
2.1 General Justification

a. Neglect of biblical discipleship . – In most churches, the discipleships are copies of some
reference churches in Peru or of foreign discipleships that are out of context of the needs of the
members of the church in Peru. Disciples are subjective, literalist and fundamentalist, leaving
aside the pastoral action of forming disciples from the biblical perspective.

b. Values training . – The education crisis is based on providing information with a materialistic
and pragmatic mentality, it is not based on training people with Christian values,
There are many evangelical churches that do not have discipleship programs that form
Christian values, the church is called to form Christian values and disciples of Jesus.
2.2 Specific Justification

a. The School of Biblical Discipleship (EDB) arises from the need to disciple the members of the
Church so that we can transmit that discipleship to others, it is to study biblical discipleship and
contextualize the problems that a member of the church goes through in our society, to create
Christian disciples for the 21st century.

b. The School of Biblical Discipleship (EDB) seeks to provide all members of the church who wish to
work with their spiritual gifts in the different ministries and services of the church; it is essential to
study discipleship in order to serve in the church.

c. Due to the need to form Christian disciples in the Church - Pastoral care in Peru focused for many
years on the task of having members, visitors and/or sympathizers, discipleship has not been taken
seriously, therefore, it is necessary form Christian disciples with pastoral action aimed at creating
Christian disciples for the mission of God.

3- General objective

Develop and enhance the biblical, theological and practical capacity of the Christian disciple
with a vision of service, work, evangelization and apologetic action, developing a comprehensive and
effective Christian life (physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual).

4- Specific objectives

a. Provide biblical theological tools to be disciples of Jesus.

b. Increase capacities in spiritual leadership within the framework of what we call integral discipleship
work.
c. Provide coherence between faith, Christianity and society .
e. Promote the biblical idea of discipling others for a comprehensive Christian life.

5- Vision

To be a disciple trained in the integral field of Christian life, with an education in values, who
has academic abilities, from the integral mission and who dialogues with the social sciences, from the
biblical-theological perspective.
