Husnul Khuluq-Good Character

Advice to teachers
It is out of Allah’s mercy that you ˹O Prophet˺ have been lenient with them.
Had you been cruel or hard-hearted, they would have certainly abandoned
you. So pardon them, ask Allah’s forgiveness for them, and consult with
them in ˹conducting˺ matters. Once you make a decision, put your trust in
Allah. Surely Allah loves those who trust in Him. Quran 3:159

MANNERS OF THE BELIEVERS

Humility The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) Narrated
said: “Wealth does not decrease because of charity, and Allah increases by Abu

Wisdom path in knowledge, Allah will thereby make easy for him a path to the by Abu

The Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬said: ❝There is no cause for envy except in two cases: a
man to whom Allah gives wealth and enables him to spend it in support
of the truth, and a man to whom Allah gives wisdom and he rules in Al-Bukhari

Leadership “Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The Narrated by

is the guardian of his family and he is responsible for them. A woman is `Umar(ra)
the guardian of her husband’s home and his children and she is
responsible for them. The servant of a man is a guardian of the
property of his master and he is responsible for it. No doubt, every one
of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock.”
The Prophet (s) highlighted the desire of leadership as directly linked to
losing the help and assistance of Allah, “Do not ask for authority. If it is
given to you at your request, you will be held fully responsible for it. If
it is given to you without your request, you will be helped by Allah in it”
Cooperating The 'Prophet said, "It is obligatory for one to listen to and obey (the Narrated by

Controlling The The example of the good word is like a good tree, whose roots are very Quran:
Tongue strong in the ground and its branches reach up to the sky. It bears fruits (14:24-27)
but the opposite is true.
The example of the bad word is like a bad tree, which has been
uprooted from the ground. It has no fruit but evil.
The Prophet (peace be on him) taught us to use our tongues wisely. He Narrated by
said: Ahmad.
Your imaan is not the right imaan until you have the right heart. And
your heart will not be a sound heart until you have the right tongue and
right words on your tongue.
Being thankful “Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you, Quran [2:152]
and be grateful to Me (for My countless favours on you) and never be
ungrateful to Me”
“And if you would count the favours of Allah, never could you be able Quran
to count them. Truly, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [16:18]
Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "He who (Ahmad,
does not thank people, does not thank Allah" Tirmidhi).
Defending The “If anyone relieves a Muslim believer from one of the hardships of this Narrated by

you do, you will love one another? Promote greetings amongst
yourselves."

A man asked the Messenger of Allah (‫)ﷺ‬: "Which act in Islam is the Narrated by
best?" He (‫ )ﷺ‬replied, "To give food, and to greet everyone, whether ‘Abdullah ibn

Forgiving others “Who spend [in the cause of Allah ] during ease and hardship and who Quran 3:134

‘Ubadah ibn as-Samit said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (blessings
and peace of Allah be upon him) say: “There is no man who suffers an
injury to his body, then he forgives [the one who caused it] as an act of
charity, but Allah will absolve his sins commensurate with the extent of Source:

Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬said, "Do not hate one another, nor be jealous Narrated by

just a bare stone. Such people are unable to preserve the reward of their

Anger  Those who donate in prosperity and adversity, control their anger, Quran 3:134
and pardon others. And Allah loves the good-doers.3:134

 “If any of you becomes angry and he is standing, let him sit down, Narrated by

Riya- show off “Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, Quran 4:36

your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-
deluding and boastful.”
Envy “Beware of envy, for it devours good deeds just as fire devours wood or Narrated by

Backbiting,  O believers! Avoid many suspicions, ˹for˺ indeed, some suspicions Quran 49:12
spying are sinful. And do not spy, nor backbite one another. Would any of
you like to eat the flesh of their dead brother? You would despise
that! And fear Allah. Surely Allah is ˹the˺ Accepter of Repentance,
Most Merciful.
 When you passed it from one tongue to the other, and said with
your mouths what you had no knowledge of, taking it lightly while Quran 24:15
it is ˹extremely˺ serious in the sight of Allah.
Wasting And do not spend wastefully. Surely the wasteful are ˹like˺ brothers to the Quran 17:27
money or food devils.
Being rude to And honour your parents. If one or both of them reach old age in your Quran 17:23
parents care, never say to them ˹even˺ ‘ugh,’ nor yell at them. Rather, address
them respectfully.
Respond to Good and evil cannot be equal. Respond ˹to evil˺ with what is best, then Quran 41:34
evil with good the one you are in a feud with will be like a close friend.
