Notes for Parents


The work packs are designed as a fun and multi-sensory
way to help young children become familiar with letter
sounds and to begin reading and writing. Research shows
that Jolly Phonics is a fun and child-centered approach
to teaching literacy through synthetic phonics. With
actions for each of the 42 letter sounds, the multi-sensory
method is very motivating for children and teachers.
Each sound is introduced with a short story and
vocabulary for you to read to your child. Each sound is
also accompanied by an action, which your child can do to
help them remember the sound. These work packs consist
on various types of worksheets which will enhance your
child’s academic skills.

STEAM
STEAM education is an approach to learning that aims
to integrate and promote problem solving skills and
preparing students for a complex, technologically
advanced world. It emphasizes hands-on learning and
collaboration to make education more engaging and
relevant. The STEAM stands for Science, Technology,
Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. This approach is
also used in this work pack.

Note for teachers
Tricky words are words that early readers will struggle with. These words
may have unusual spellings, contain new sounds and graphemes, or don't
follow ordinary phonemic rules. Here are three tricky words for the 1st
term. Teachers will create flash cards and conduct oral drills of these
