Girl Scout Troop 11581 Songbook Hi, my name is Joe. Hi, my name is Joe. And I work all day in a button factory. One day, my boss came up to me And said Joe, are you busy? I said No So he said push the button with your right hand [Keep doing all the movements throughout each verse adding a movement each repeat] push the button with your left hand push the button with your right foot push the button with your left foot push the button with your head push the button with your tongue I said YES!!!! Little Red Caboose Little red caboose, Chug, chug, chug. Little red caboose, Chug, chug, chug. Little red caboose behind the train, Train, train, train. Smokestack on his back, Back back back. Coming around the track, Track, track, track. Little red caboose behind the train, TOOT, TOOT! The Other Day, I Met a Bear The leader begins by "singing" one line of each verse and the group repeats it in the same sing-song fashion. Then everybody sings each whole verse once together. The other day I met a bear Out in the woods Oh way out there He looked at me I looked at him He sized up me I sized up him He said to me Why don't you run I see you ain't Got any gun I said to him That's a good idea So come on feet Away from here And so I ran Away from there But right behind Me was that bear And then I see Ahead of me A great big tree Oh, glory be! The lowest branch Was ten feet up I'd have to jump And trust my luck! And so I jumped Into the air But I missed that branch A way up there Now don't you fret Now don't you frown 'Cause I caught that branch On the way back down This is the end There ain't no more Until I meet That bear once more

Girl Scout Troop 11581 Songbook Johnny Appleseed Grace Oh, the Lord's been good to me. And, so I thank the Lord; For giving me, the things I need, The sun and the rain and the appleseed; The Lord's been good to me. Linger CHORUS Mm-Mm I want to linger Mm-Mm a little longer Mm-Mm a little longer here with you Mm-Mm its such a perfect night Mm-Mm It doesnt seem quite right Mm-Mm That this should be my last with you CHORUS Mm-Mm and come September Mm-Mm I will remember Mm-Mm My camping days and friendships true CHORUS Mm-Mm and as the years go by Mm-Mm Ill think of you and sigh Mm-Mm This is goodnight and not good bye. CHORUS Barges Out of my window looking in the night I can see the barges' flickering light. Silently flows the river to sea, and the barges too go silently. Chorus: Barges, I would like to go with you, I would like to sail the ocean blue. Barges, have you treasures in your hold? Do you fight with priates brave and bold? Out of my window lookin in the night, I can see the barges' flickering light. Starboard shines green and port is glowing red, i n the night they signal up ahead. Chorus Out of my window looking in the night I can see the barges' flickering light. Now is the time when I will soon be gone, And I'll sail with barges on and on. Chorus On My Honor Chorus : On my honor, I will try. There's a duty to be done and I say I. There's a reason here for a reason above. My honor is to try and my duty is to love. People don't need to know my name. If I've done any harm, then I'm to blame. If I've helped someone, then I've helped me. And I've opened up my eyes to see. Chorus I've tucked away a song or two. If you're feeling low, there's one for you. If you need a friend, then I will come. And there's many more where I come from. Chorus Come with me where the fire burns bright, We can even see better by the candle's light. And we'll find more meaning in a campfire's glow, Than youll ever learn in a year or so. Chorus We've made a promise to always keep. We sing Day is Done before we sleep. We are Girl Scouts together and when we're done, We'll still be a-trying and a-singing this song. Chorus 4
