WDC DG HANNAHS NEWS BYTES

Letter From the President by Katie Novaria

Spring has sprung and your May edition of Hannahs News Bytes has arrived. In April our chapter enjoyed an afternoon of fashion and philanthropy at our Saks Spring Shop Around. Thanks to our official Saks Fashionista, Julianne, we learned all there is to know about this seasons fashion and beauty trends. After receiving a makeup touch up, a glass of wine, and some final pointers, we shopped in style for Service for Sight and walked away with a bunch of fun goodies and great purchases. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and make this event a success. The month of May means Spring Fling is just around the corner. Our Fourth Annual AllGreek Spring Fling will be held at Elephant & Castle Pub on Wednesday, May 16th. Invite your fraternity and sorority friends to attend and help in our mission to do good by raising money for Columbia Lighthouse for the Blinds Camp Lighthouse. Check out Karens What Not to Miss This Month for all the details. D.C. may slow down in the summer months, but the WDC Delta Gamma Alumnae Chapter does not! We have several fun events on the calendar and are looking forward to summer in the city with our sisters. Get ready for some summer activities (baseball, museums, and tubing) and invite recent grads and DGs who are new to the area to come along. Stay tuned for details!

SPRING FLING IS MAY 16TH!!!!! Our annual event to raise funds for our favorite local charities will be held on Wednesday evening, 16th of May, at Elephant & Castle Pub & Restaurant located at 900 19th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20006, beginning at 6 PM. This event, which will include some fabulous raffle items, is open to Delta Gammas, significant others and friends-be they members of other Greek organizations or not. Everyone likes to party for a good cause so reach out to your own social networks and have them join us! May also finds many of us cleaning out our closets so remember to look to the thrift stores of the Prevention of Blindness Society of Washington when it is time to donate your gently used items. Thank you to WDC member, Tracey Yost, who donated to their Kensington location and reported her hours to me! I am always on the lookout for your DO GOOD hours ladies so send me an email anytime! Hats off to Shristi Singh and her fianc , who in lieu of wedding favors, will donate the money instead to the Guiding Eyes Puppy Raiser program in Maryland! According to Shristi, a donation speaks for my fiances' love (more like obsession) for the puppies and mine for DG and our foundation. If you too are looking for out of the box gift ideas for graduates, brides or a parent on Mothers or Fathers Day, consider following their example and make a donation to the Puppy Raiser program, CLBs Camp Lighthouse or Light the Way 5K or our own Delta Gamma Foundation. I can provide you with the necessary contact information so you can quickly set up a donation in honor of an upcoming special event in your life. Send your request to [email protected] . See you all at the Spring Fling and Thanks for Doing Good for DG and our community! Itb, Lynn
